Most of the civilized planet is socialist. Europe is socialist. Australia and Canada are Socialist. Mexico is neo-socialist, mainly profiting the 40 facist families that run the place. Cuba is Socialist. Venezuela is Socialist. Mainland China is socialist.

Haiti and East Africa are famously not socialist. On this message board, Conservative, and GOP, and Tea Party posters: Want everyone to think that the United States is just as free as Haiti and East Africa! Many think the United States is not only not progressive, but not even socialist.

France rejected "austerity" socialism, favoring instead a growth through spending socialism. Governor Brown is doing that for California. "Shovel Ready Jobs" is actually. . . .what growth through spending is all about.

"Austerity Socialism" is all about the "Reagan Trajectory, and even an entire upper echelon in a branch of government certain. Reagan took what deficit there was, and spent it among the already propserous. Lower income groups were left to the drug and youth gang sub-culture instead.

Clearly, all of Hollywood prospered, following Ron!

The George McGovern part of Obama-Biden, took what deficit there was: And provided the refundable, equal amount, "Make Work Pay Income Tax Credit!" "Chump Change You Can Believe In," was easily the basis for a first-ever, equal-amount, COLA: Put in place nationwide. Socialists and Shahs alike mostly do, and did, fixed percentage raise, national COLA's. A lot of them are gone now. Others are barely hanging on. In contrast, a lot of California will be Hanging Ten, again, just like always.

The first part of "Right Left" spending is getting the rich to pay for it. The second part of "Right Left" Spending is to prime the market place, at all levels, so that customers in the stores will buy things. Keynes had a famous method. Pay lots of people without jobs to dig holes, and pay them--and even more people--to fill them up.

That is famously not: The "austerity" brand. Austerity, famously, is the Romney-Ryan-Aiken brand, with fat people from New Jersey, even signing on! Their brand is to take what little there is, and spend it amongst the already prosperous. La Canada-Flintridge/JPL, got billions to invent and fly "Curiosity." Romney-Ryan-Aiken-Christie would spend more billions to help them build another such craft: To see if there is life in South El Monte, about ten miles away! South El Monte would not get one dime of the spending.
