(CNSNews.com) – Barbershops are popular with men and can therefore be a "good place" to provide information about fathering and resources for dads, President Barack Obama said Wednesday while dining at Kenny’s BBQ Smokehouse in Washington, D.C.

Obama said barbershops are a good place to get the word out on parenting because that’s where “everybody hangs out.”

“And then the reason the two older gentlemen are here is, as I was mentioning, barbershops are where a lot of men go – and we want to work with them – we want to work with barbershops to figure out how we can get better information to fathers about resources that are available to them so they can find job training programs; they can find support groups for fathers,” Obama is quoted as saying in a partial transcript mailed to media outlets by the White House.

Please tell me this is some sort of "Onion" faux news thing. Please? Maybe a really late April Fool's joke?

This can't possibly be a real story.

Obama trying to prove he's a real black man by perpetuating dumb stereotypes.

Who in the fuck "hangs out" in a barbershop?

I have a hot South Korean chick do my hair - by appointment - in a salon.

I come in, sit down, we chat about Korea, food, the families, the kids, etc.

She cuts my hair, gives me a massage and a blow job, I swipe the credit card - I leave.

very very cool.... :D

Is this gonna be like enlisting truck drivers as agents for Homeland Security. What idiot is gonna argue about parenting with a guy who has lethal sharp instruments in their hands?

Here it comes... A subsidy for barbers who counsel errant fathers...

it's where black people go to loiter about. With Odumbo's black unemployment rate hovering at around 30% there's plenty of loitering.

problem is. you have to know who your fatherr or sons are a tall order in the community of entitlement and abandonment

This might make sense if Obama ever spent time in a barber shop. But I hear he flies in his own personal barber from Chicago every two week to sculpt his nubs. What a crock.

I've gotten my hair cut in a barbershop, but not once, not ever did I even consider "hanging out" in one. It's a business... You go there, snip, ship, 20 bucks lighter you leave with hopefully better looking hair. That's it!

And the barber is high up on the mentoring scale? Women and girls can go to the hair salon. No wonder when they asked Michelle who she would want to be, if she could be anyone else, she picked Beyonce. These people are truly upscale intellectuals.

OMG- Obama Must Go!

Yeah, if a kid was caught eating something like that in a public school, Michelle's food nazis would have come in, suspended the kid, and made him eat government indoctrinated chicken nuggets!

And that's where HE received all of his father's "dreams" that he's forcing down the throats of the country?

THAT explains a lot....

And the Barbershop Quartets are swaying to and fro (well, maybe not fro, since 'fros aren't too much in style anymore) singing "Gimme More 'Dat Obama Money."

Easy for Barrytonedeaf to say, considering he flies in his personal barber from halfway across the country (doesn't everyone else who's "doing fine" now?)...

And this Little Fascist King has the gall to call others "out of touch".... wuddah maroon!

Take away the teleprompter and this is what you get, a babbling idiot. Is anybody surprised that this guy doesn't have an original intellegent thought in his head? It will be continuous gaffes by Obama and Biden til the end. Unemployment is bad with public service employees and good with the private sector? Parenting advise at barber shops? His mother would have probably raised him better if she DID get her advice from a barber instead of foreign marxists. Maybe then grandma and grandpa wouldn't have HAD to raise a little self-entitled narcisstic socialist that would refer to them as "white folks"! Ungreatful bastard. When I say bastard, I mean bastard in all senses of the word.

He can't speak in complete thoughts. It's more like a "stream of unconsciousness" AKA babbling! He makes no sense and then ends with a question...like he doesn't believe what he is saying himself! What a miserable example for anything, let alone a father!

Yeah, what about churches? Is that not a place where millions of men assemble? Is that not the place where families gather? Is this not the place where people go to learn how to live godly lives? Would this not be the place where men could learn to be fathers? Since all of this is obvious, why has Obama ignored the impact of this institution in the lives of America's citizens?

Hanging out in barbershops is a cultural thing among African Americans, the majority of America do not count the barbershop as a cornerstone of their culture. It's just a place to get a haircut. Again, shows hows clueless this guy is...

So, advice now from the Barber replaces advice from the Holy Book -- as in, work hard, marry and remain committed to the mother of your children, pay your taxes, and obey the law. What "new thing" will the Barber have to say that is going to do or be so much better than what God has to say?

Last time I saw a good Ol´ Fashion b-shop was in smalltown, Idaho. Yeah, guys hung out there - of necessity. Only one in town and ony one chair. You waited your turn and Bill had pretty lousy coffee for ambience. We talked mainly hunting and fishing, a little farming. Not child-rearing; that was pretty well a given in that mini-culture, now endangered.

Yeah. Like he and his barber that he flies in from Chicago every two weeks to trim his curly locks, chat about parenting issues? And what's with this dining out all the time? And eating fattening, greasy ribs of all things? What's wrong with the White House chow? Don't tell me he can't get ribs there?

Why do the businesses continue to cater to Obama? They should close their doors to him and those who serve under him. He has done nothing but demonized their success, crippled them with regulations and in December when the taxes increase he will confiscate more of their earned wealth. Personally I would have told him he was unwelcome in my establishment and to look else where to feed his appetite.

They really shouldn't let him ad lib without the help of his speechwriters and teleprompters. To expand on a line from the late Art Linkletter "This president says the stupidest things."
Can you imagine intelligent life in outer space tuning into one of nobama's rambling photo ops? They'd destroy Earth in a second to keep him from spreading to the rest of the universe.

Most men have not been in a barber shop for decades. I don't even know of any near me. Haircuts happen at home, or the pretty boys go to "salons" and get styled along with their pedicures.

It is a place where a father and son can talk about issues regarding manhood away from the home that need to be discussed. My son and I have a very good relationship with our barber, an Uzbec former Spetznak, who would have been my enemy, but now my friend here. It is a place where men talk as men.

Home used to be a good place for kids to get fatherly advice, until the liberal cult convinced naive women that fathers weren't necessary. Church and Boy Scouts can be good too, but liberals don't like them very much either. Well unless the church has a minister like Jeremiah Wright.

It was 1967. I was 10 and in an "ethnic" barbershop somewhere in northwest Miami why? I don't know. The brotha's cuttin' hair were talking 'bout BJs. On the way honme I asked dear old dad what a BJ was. He never answered me. So. that's my fatherly advice from the a barbershop.

Then why does Obama fly his personal barber from Chicago every 10 to 14 days to DC. He does not hang around in ANY barbershop. And it has not been determined who is paying for these trips!!!!!!!
