The State Department gave the reason for why they are doing this about-face, but I haven't seen anything to explain why this embargo wasn't their first course of action here.

it is not a 30.06 it shoots a long straight jacket ball 30 cal pistol type cartridge.

The Garand is 30 06 I do believe though.

It's a great gun and a real nice shoot. They recommend you use 150 grain or less ammo though. I love the ping when the clip ejects.
