I would guess that none of the people screaming COMMUNIST have a clue of exactly what communism really is.

I have visited Political Pistachio a few times and the fact people have used this site as a reference for their threads or posts is amazing. Don't they ever check out the blogs posted on this site for accuracy of terms and facts?
Anyway, I supplied the definition of Communism from Merriam-Webster, now what in clear terms has Obama really done (supported with actual facts) that are communist? Anyone? I approached folks on the right the same way with socialism and did it a few times, funny how there were no takers.
Like socialism, the US-of-A is still the least socialistic and/or communistic of all developed/industrial countries in the entire world and that's after four years of that socialistic/communist Obama.

I'll try to put it another way: It doesn't seem like a smart strategy to tell someone they're stupid as a way to get them to agree with you.

So, either they're making a mistake by doing that, or they don't feel they need those votes in the first place. If it is the latter, then I wonder how they feel they get enough votes to win going forward.

I have heard them say that too much of their base stayed home. My guess, therefore, is that all they feel they need to do is maximize their base and they'll be back in the game. I guess I was looking for a little confirmation there.

Pretty simple question, really.

I heard Tom Brokow say yesterday morning that something like 70% of Repub congresspeople are in districts that make them safe for re election. So yes, I believe that Repubs calling all people stupid except for the ones voting for them is in fact their plan.
What do they care if they know they will be re elected? It is the same reason the Rethugs act so fuking stupid in Congress. There seems to be no consequencses to their in action.
As long as the rethugs are appealing to the base that will re elct them, why act reasonable?

And the rethugs know they have no chance at the WH in 2016. And really why would they want the WH. Normal people would expect them to do something constructive if they held the WH.

I heard him say the same thing.

The voters know that the GObP works for the ultra rich. If they had any doubt, this so-called "negotiation" over the fiscal cliff should have shown them that the future of the country is simply not a concern for the R.

And, as Seawytch said, the crazy crap, the commie, pinko, marxist, fascist, birther, throw every name at the wall and hope something sticks. Adults are turned off by this because they know its silly and meaningless.

Oh well, the good news is that, in the long run, the craziness on the radical right is that its good for the country, good for Americans.
