If Liberals would stop putting our resources off-limits we wouldn't be in as bad a spot as we are today. Right now we're ripe for international blackmail from our enemies:

I love this administrations' energy policy.
Institute regulations intended to raise the costs of energy.
Place millions of acres of land off-limits to drilling and energy production and just use everyone else's.
Encourage inventors to dream up alternative sources of energy. It should bear fruit in about 20 or 30 years.
Cut NASA and turn it into a Muslim outreach program. All of the benefits of the program will disappear.
Pass Green legislation that will cost Americans twice the amount everyone else pays.

What Affects Oil Price Futures?:
Oil futures, or futures contracts, are agreements to buy or sell oil at a specific date in the future at a specific price. Traders in oil futures bid on the price of oil based on what they think oil will trade at. They look at projected supply and demand to determine the price. However, if traders think the price of oil will be high, they create a self-fulfilling prophecy by bidding up oil prices. This can create high oil prices even when there is plenty of supply on hand. Once this starts, other investors will bid on oil prices just like any other commodity, such as gold, creating an asset bubble.

Nobody is taxing any of the malodorous gasses that spew from any of your orifices. GOP hate radio has made an ass of you yet again.

I have been thinking about this. The trick is, what energy source that is clean but can also make as much money for the government as oil and gas, they have not thought of it yet. Our economy revolves around gas.....making fuel efficent cars are causing States to support measures that include being charged per mile you drive, because they are not making enough in gas taxes because people are not spending as much on gas. now if everyone had solar power and gass efficient cars, the government would have to get smaller because there would not be enough money in their coffers......so they would have to charge an arm and a leg for gas or perhaps get a tax system similar to the one in England, where they charge you taxes based on how many closets you have in your house and other invasive taxes. Now I realize the supply and demand issue but that would become obsolete because they would nessicarily have to charge more in taxes for gas, if everyone was diving a fuel efficient car.......Gas going back down to 99 cents a gallon would never happen again even if we had more supply and less demand....or they would do what they do now shut off a couple of refineries so they always have a low supply so they can charge more then tax it alot more........I do not see a green economy working out at all especially with programs like Obama care and other programs...there is just not enough money moving in a green economy........... So Obama must know this............So what is the real plan and how can he compensate for lack of taxable items in a green economy.....Charge us on everything? Carbon credits? yes yes paying for the air we breathe......is that what we are coming to?taxes on miles driven? more taxes on property....and how is this good for the middle class....or does it kill the middle class as we know it?........Interesting....but a green economy just means more invasive taxes on everything that is essential for life....

If your tax code is based on revenue from consumption and you attempt to reduce consumption thus reducing revenue then higher taxes are sure to follow unless you cut spending, and we all know how Democrats hate spending cuts.

In San Diego SDG&E, (San Diego Gouge And Extortion) the area energy cooperative, constantly reminded us to cut usage. They showed us how much we had reduced our usage on our bills, but for some strange reason our bills never went down, they went up. It was because the company had overhead costs and expenses that still had to be paid so they just goosed up the cost per kilowatt/hr periodically. By the time one request for an increase would be granted and imposed more requests for increases had already been submitted. We kept cutting our usage and they kept raising our rates because they couldn't pay their bills without higher collections. It was a never ending cycle.
