Obama: Americans agree with my approach on deficit

time to stand with the president or get out of the way.

nope. Time for the govt to do without.

unfortunately for you, the majority of americans voted for the presidents view, not yours

,,,
100%? :cuckoo: Tax the wealthy at the same rate they were taxed under those sooooo bad clinton years.

What a loser you are

no, what i am saying dumbass is the effect that taxing these folks will have on the scheme of things is incredibly insignificant. Tiny.
However, it will seriously effect 100,000's of small businesses in a much, much bigger way..and you don't do that in a crushing economy.
Now...what do you say about something the president refuses to address that would have a huge positive affect on the deficit - reign in bloated entitlements?

stop with the talking points, the election is over.

The rate the president wants was the sane rate people paid during the clinton years...and we need to go after hedge fund managers and others like romney who pay such low rates on unearned income.

It is only part of a plan
boehner walked away from the proposal he was offering: $3.5 trillion in spending cuts over 10 years, smaller tax increases than those laid out in a bipartisan senate plan and cuts to entitlement programs, something democrats have pushed hard against. It also didn't include revenues that obama has insisted be in a final package, namely via closing tax loopholes and ending subsidies for the oil and gas industry.

"in other words, this was an extraordinarily fair deal," obama told reporters. "if it was unbalanced, it was unbalanced in the direction of not enough revenue." obama: Debt ceiling talks fell apart, boehner walked out

...
time to stand with the president or get out of the way.

well tough shit, ain't happening

seems like it already happened on election day :clap2:

It's.....all....about.....the.....spending.

When revenue is down 30% and spending is up 30%, it's not all about the spending. Only if you are an uneducated troll could you believe such nonsense. Saying that it's all about the spending is the same as saying there is no spending problem at all and it's all a revenue problem.

Maybe that is the position I should take. There is no spending problem at all; it's all a revenue problem. If we had enough revenue, there would be no problem with spending. Unfortunately that sounds as stupid as those of you who insist it's all a spending problem.
Pfffft...The republicans want to head off the cuts to the pentagon budget every bit as much as the lolberals want to save their socialistic welfare state spending...The sequester cuts both.

Doesn't matter if the gubmint got $20 trillion a year, they'd find ways to piss it away.

It's all about saving sacred cow spending programs....Absolutely nothing more.

i'm starting to believe you really are this simpleminded.

It's Begun: Winner of Election says tax hike on rich should be part of fiscal deal

Obama says tax hike on rich should be part of fiscal deal

This is it. The majority now needs to back the President with more than just a vote. We need to say to our friends and opponents "help, get out of the way"

:clap2:

Stand with the President!

still stuck on rabble rousing class warfare stupid eh?

$73- 100 Bn is what they projected to net form the tax rate s expiring on the slimy evil rich ( that voted for obama over Romney BIG btw, suckers )

so on a budget deficit of $1.3 a year, thats 1 Trillion 300 BN, we are talking about $100 Bn?..... and the years there after it will go down as they shift their $$$$...

you're being used, think for yourself for a change. ;)

you people are all over the place with magical math

when it comes to cutting a small program, you say 'every little bit helps' and when it comes to tackling the budget and deficits with ending tax cuts you say ''that's to little' so...little matters on one hand and not on the other

can't have it both ways, no matter how hard you try

and when Wealthy people lobby for benefits for Wealthy? It's class warfare because everyone else gets screwed

...

Unfortunately for you, the majority of Americans voted for the Presidents view, not yours

 I could line this page with articles describing the gnashing of teeth and screaming when Bush said he had a mandate in 04, (which he didn't inho either) AND he and his party did better than Obama did....

put the crack pipe down and start another attention whore thread dante, please:lol:

except Dante is not saying the President has a mandate, only that the majority of voters know Obama versus Romney was about this very issue.

this is not some undefined philosophical mandate battle....this is about specifics. And the voters all heard it

you lefties bitch about the wealthy

and then you turn around and VOTE for the Wealthy Democrats to be your masters..

I find that hilarious

Who expected Obama to end his DIVISIONS of this country or his sheep to not follow him in it?
Instead he seems to be doubling down on it now

how dumb can you be. Voting for a Wealthy candidate who is FOR the little people and not ALL about helping the wealthy at the expense of the rest of us....and besides when wealthy liberals wants to raise taxes on themselves? I'm for it

your arguments lost in 2006, 2008, and 2012.

you will lose in 2014 if you keep it up

Are you really so simple-minded to believe that the relatively paltry sum gathered in from the "millionaires and billionaires" (which curiously includes people making amounts nowhere near that amount) is going to make a scratch, let alone a dent, in the deficit?

Really?

yet when it came to programs being cut, every little dollar mattered. now no amount of money matters

Really?

Take 100% of their money and you don't make a dent. Oh you can only do that once and then they have none left.

Out of the mouths of babes and trolls.

Thanks for inadvertently proving my point.

Half the people voted for Romney. Where's he getting off? The other half, the half with the collective IQ barely in single digits above that of the veterinary barnyard, the horses and cows in the pastures, the pigs in the pen, and the chickens in the coop are Obama's supporters and the only words most of them know are "Where's my free stuff". Obama's looking for a reborn Confederate Army going through the WhiteHouse room by room, guns drawn, searching for where he's hiding.

I came across a blurb today stating that Bobby Jindal is toying with the idea of filing a petition to secede from the union.

Obama: Americans agree with my approach on deficit | Political Headlines | Comcast

President Barack Obama, laying down his marker for grueling "fiscal cliff" negotiations, said Friday he won't accept any approach to federal deficit reduction that doesn't ask the wealthy to pay more in taxes.
Following up, Obama's spokesman said later that the president would veto any legislation extending tax cuts for families making $250,000 or more.

failure to address the automatic tax increases and spending cuts could cripple the economy. A Congressional Budget Office report on Thursday projected that the economy would fall back into recession if there is a protracted impasse in Washington.

Another 4 years of veto's and horse shit and more doom and gloom , what a dick weed .

They sure do. Americans voted him in for a second term. Americans deserve anything he dishes them.

Keep in mind when you guys talk about "revenue" on this thread that you are referring to the people's money not the governments. You are referring to theft.

America voted for theft. America deserves theft. Stop complaining.

Let me see the election was on Tuesday we had the standard bi-partisan talking points on Wednesday and Thursday and on Friday it's we do things my way or nothing get's done gridlock. Well I'm neither surprised or shocked is anyone?

I laughed my ass off when he said the majority of Americans agree with him.

I should just make this my sig for the next four years. I quote myself from election night.

Everyone took their eye off the ball just like I said they would. And we are in surprise the exact same place we were when the whole thing started.

Why not lower corporate tax rates then?
Because it's not about tax rates.

Both the remocrats and depublicans want to protect their spending priorities from the sequester.

Then why Obama is making it about the tax rates? He did not say that he will veto any spending cuts. He said he will veto anything that will not rise taxes for the rich.

The popular vote 50.5% Obama 47.9 Romney good luck selling that as a mandate.

All I know is I waited out Obama for 4 long years because I just KNEW America would wise up and then we'd get him out of there and be on the road to recovery.
Imagine my disappointment knowing Im going to have to hang on 4 more years, my assets in shambles and no HOPE in sight.
I think It's every man for himself time. We might as well join the deadbeats and get our share too.
