Barack Obama laughs off charges of socialism. Joe Biden scoffs at references to Marxism. Both men shrug off accusations of liberalism.

But Obama himself acknowledges that he was drawn to socialists and even Marxists as a college student. He continued to associate with Marxists later in life, even choosing to launch his political career in the living room of a self-described Marxist, William Ayers, in 1995, when Obama was 34.

Obama's affinity for Marxists began when he attended Occidental College in Los Angeles.

"To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully," the Democratic presidential candidate wrote in his memoir, "Dreams From My Father." "The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists."

Reminds me of the old saying (somewhat whistfully) "your young Marxist days are your best Marxist days". Some keep the faith, some, like Obama, reject it and hop into capitalism.

Funny, he's changed, but what he says hasn't? Wonder if his first act as president will be to spread American wealth to African countries.

* just going off his accomplishment in the Senate.

I'd rather the people in Africa who have no opportunities to get my tax dollars than the people in America who have every opportunity. I'm serious, too. Africans don't have the opportunities we have in America. At least if they received charity, I'd know it's going to someone who had few chances in life. Fuck the deatbeats in America who sit on their fat asses all day, they had every opportunity I had.

Agree 100%.

Except several countries in Africa tried redistributing the wealth. Zimbabwe's a good example, let's see, 12 million percent inflation. Wonder how much money you loose between the bank, and the bread line?

Charity is a good thing, if directed at teaching a person to fish. Giving people fish only results in a huge appetite for free fish.

"In the next century, nations as we know it will be obsolete; all states will recognize a single, global authority. National sovereignty wasn't such a great idea after all."

Strobe Talbot, Clinton's Deputy Secretary of State, as quoted in Time, July 20th, l992.

"The Trilateral Commission is intended to be the vehicle for multinational consolidation of the commercial and banking interests by seizing control of the political government of the United States. The Trilateral Commission represents a skillful, coordinated effort to seize control and consolidate the four centers of power political, monetary, intellectual and ecclesiastical. What the Trilateral Commission intends is to create a worldwide economic power superior to the political governments of the nation states involved. As managers and creators of the system ,they will rule the future."

U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater in his l964 book: With No Apologies.

To achieve world government, it is necessary to remove from the minds of men their individualism, loyalty to family tradition, national patriotism and religious dogmas ...
We have swallowed all manner of poisonous certainties fed us by our parents, our Sunday and day school teachers, our politicians, our priests, our newspapers and others with vested interests in controlling us.

The reinterpretation and eventual eradication of the concept of right and wrong which has been the basis of child training, the substitution of intelligent and rational thinking for faith in the certainties of the old people, these are the belated objectives ... for charting the changes of human behavior.

It's funny, there was another very famous man who had an affinity for Karl Marx

Jim Jones was a voracious reader as a child, studying Joseph Stalin, Karl Marx, Mahatma Gandhi and Adolf Hitler. He studied each carefully, noting their strengths and weaknesses...

Keep seeing that Kool-Aid correlation....

This is exactly the reason I refuse to go and edumacate myself. I don't want to be pallin' around with them.

Oh you'd be surprised at the things you can learn from these people. Negative teaching aides are always the most effective.
