Over 2-1/2 years ago Obama signed off on 787 BILLION dollars. Billions of which were to go to shovel ready road and bridge projects--in an effort to immediately get the economy moving.

Obama was asked this today? Didn't you understand about the permit process that goes along with road and bridge work? Obama with a chuckle-answered--well those shovel ready projects weren't as shovel ready as we thought.

It appears that our Harvard graduate--community organizer--most intellectual President didn’t know that it takes years of engineering and design in order to obtain permits before the 1st shovel goes into the ground.

He doesn't appear to understand that what took thousands of men with shovels back in the 1930’s can now be done with a couple of heavy equipment operators. Most construction trades today are licensed to do specific work. IOW you can’t take a guy off the street tell him to jump into a backhoe and dig.

Furthermore--all this of this road and bridge work is centered around getting men back to work. Back in the 1930’s women rarely worked. Today they are ½ of the work force--who typically don’t do road and bridge work.

In essence--we have a President that tried to build a bridge into the 1930's with his economic revival policies--and it has failed. 1st time unemployment claims jumped again last week.

This is the governments own figures. You have any idea on the history of just how inaccurate the government has been when relying on their own data?

36% of the "stimulus" come in the form of TAX BREAKS.

.36 X 787 = $283,000,000,000 was money that was not created, merely money that the taxpayers and businesses did not have to pony up to the FED.

The vast majority of the rest of Stimulus when to shore up Federal spending, and State government spending and damned LITTLE of it went to CREATING NEW JOBS.

So it ought NOT to be expecially surprising that the Stimulus didn't create new jobs, as very little of that money was ever earmarked to creating new jobs.

1 trillion dollars ($100.00 bills stacked on palets) Note how small the man is now in the lower left hand corner of the chart.

Basically Obama borrowed and spent over 1 trillion dollars in economic stimulus. It hasn't created any jobs--in fact--unemployment jumped again last week to 9.1%. What was promised was millions of jobs--that turned into saving government workers jobs--to then Nancy Pelosi referring to unemployment checks as stimulus money.

A valid, abiet incomplete, complaint about the Stimulus package.

It was poorly designed, planned, and managed from the getgo. It's primary function was not to create jobs, instead it was political payback mosrtly to unions who supported them. Obama and the rest of the Dems lied about it from day one.

Remember "shovel-ready projects."

"Those were construction projects in the 2009 stimulus bill that were supposed to get moving right away -- but jobs council members told Obama today that some got held up because of elaborate government regulations and permitting procedures.
"Shovel-ready was not as shovel-ready as we expected," Obama said."
