Obama wants jobs?:doubt:

The Obama administration on Thursday announced that it would delay a decision on a proposed Canada-to-Texas oil pipeline until 2013, Bloomberg reported.

According to Bloomberg, the move was made to give the State Department time to review an alternative route for the $7 billion Keystone XL pipeline, to try and find a way around environmentally sensitive areas in Nebraska. The project has sparked criticism and protests from environmentalists, and Thursday's move also has the effect of postponing the decision until after the 2012 election.

“Because this permit decision could affect the health and safety of the American people as well as the environment, and because a number of concerns have been raised through a public process, we should take the time to ensure that all questions are properly addressed and all the potential impacts are properly understood,” President Barack Obama said in a written statement, according to Bloomberg.

Hey, it only would of given us 25,000 JOBS..

but remember, HE really really CARES about jobs jobs jobs.

Maybe Canada (our #1 oil supplier) should sell our allotment of oil to China.

That's precisely what will happen if this pipeline isn't built. One of the arguments of the green movement is the production of tar sands oil is a very dirty business (and I won't argue with that). But production will go on regardless.

But why the hubbub surrounding this pipeline when the Obama administration touted and approved one just a couple of years ago:

The Department found that the addition of crude oil pipeline capacity between Canada and the United States will advance a number of strategic interests of the United States. These included increasing the diversity of available supplies among the United States’ worldwide crude oil sources in a time of considerable political tension in other major oil producing countries and regions; shortening the transportation pathway for crude oil supplies; and increasing crude oil supplies from a major non-Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries producer. Canada is a stable and reliable ally and trading partner of the United States, with which we have free trade agreements which augment the security of this energy supply.

Permit for Alberta Clipper Pipeline Issued

One more quote from that U.S. Department of State article:

Approval of the permit sends a positive economic signal, in a difficult economic period, about the future reliability and availability of a portion of United States’ energy imports, and in the immediate term, this shovel-ready project will provide construction jobs for workers in the United States.

Between the very real E-cat and George E Miley's fusion being both successful within the past month. I don't think we NEED the pipeline or even these kinds of fuels anymore(Don't needs to expand them). Until we get the cold fusion reactors in place to slowly fill the place of oil and coal(fissle nuclear)we could use what we currently have in place. No need to dump money down a hole if we're going to switch over.

Theres NO reason why we shouldn't start contacting our rep and senator to start pushing for our government to start buying the replacement. To many people are hurting through the high energy prices of energy for us not to.

Private energy providers could buy 12-15 1mw e-cats(which could provide for 200 houses each) 2,400-3,000 homes. Or as many as they need to power there area. Of course it will be at least a year until the electric versions of such are ready, but why not order early.

The more I think about it--- the more I come to the conclusion that our friend rossi is going to have to scale this up to at least 10 or even 100 or more mw to replace our current electric grid. He may have to figure out how to make 1 gw e-cats.

Well, why not. The Republicans have put off doing fuck all anything for that very reason.

The House has passed bill after bill, the Senate refuses to even send them to committee. And we have Sarah G stating that until the Republican House does EXACTLY what the Senate Democrats want nothing will be done.

Obama's Chicago buddies & campaign donors discovered that the new pipeline will reduce the amount of oil currently flowing through Chicago in the 2 Enbridge Pipelines.

What of it? Fuck Chicago. Look at what's being dumped at Patoka, IL.
No wonder those poor suckers in Illlinois get $8 less than NYMEX.
