- ICE's press release says that 55% of deportees, about 217,000 people, were convicted of felonies or misdemeanors.

- TRAC's report says that about 15% of people against whom deportation proceedings were initiated, about 226,000 people, had been convicted of felonies or misdemeanors (EDIT: used to say, "were deported", incorrectly).

Thus, the figures seem to indicate that almost everyone convicted of a crime gets deported fairly quickly, whereas deportation proceedings against people not convicted of crimes are relatively slow or unsuccessful.

In any event, the issue of criminal records is not pertinent to the actual record claimed in the ICE press release: the number of people, regardless of criminal record, deported in one year.

Mexican labor does not buy stocks and bonds so what the market does has zero bearing on the economy. Your own quoted source STATES that they are not coming because there is NO WORK. And we still have 8 and half percent unemployment and millions permanently no longer even looking for work. As I recall according to Obama if we just signed the Stimulus without reading it unemployment would never go over 8 percent.

The economy is coming back from the Bush created Great Recession.

Auto sales are up, home sales are up, retail sales are up, and unemployment is down.

As unemployment continues to drop, things will get even better.
