obama 48-44 national, 47-45 swing states

Here's some more mud in the face of the right wing trash. This is Karl Rove's never wrong map that has Obama also dominating Willard

I don't have a lot of faith in any map that shows Texas "leaning" for Governor Romney. There is zero chance of Romney losing Texas

On this date, July 8, 2012, CandyCorn has finally made a valid argument. That really doesn't say much for you Black_Label when the liberal apologist CC is refuting you. :clap2:

Swing states poll: A barrage of TV ads, but only in the battlegrounds

after 3 months of nothing but bad news, obama remains ahead. his ads are hitting romney hard here in virginia, and romney isnt liked by anyone but some friends and mormons, according to john boehner. romney has to start talking in specifics, and fast.

No--I don't believe these polls. No one can sustain 30 straight months of high unemployment and expect to win reelection. Obama has spent us into oblivion when he borrowed and spent 878 billion dollars in a futile effort to try and micro-manage this diverse economy back to health through road and bridge work. He's already TOAST. In June 2012-(typically the busiest month of the year)-only 80K new jobs were created--when we had 85K go out on social security disability benefits.

More workers joined the federal government's disability program in June than got new jobs, according to two new government reports, a clear indicator of how bleak the nation's jobs picture is after three full years of economic recovery.

The economy created just 80,000 jobs in June, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday. But that same month, 85,000 workers left the workforce entirely to enroll in the Social Security Disability Insurance program, according to the Social Security Administration.

The disability ranks have outpaced job growth throughout President Obama's recovery. While the economy has created 2.6 million jobs since June 2009, fully 3.1 million workers signed up for disability benefits.

On November 6, 2012--the election map is going to look similar to this.

1980.png

This was the 1980 Carter/Reagan race when unemployment stood at around 10%. Today if they counted the people who have run out of unemployment benefits the real unemployment rate in this country would be 10.9%. Americans always vote their wallets--and will not stand for another 4 years of misery.

Nevada going to Obama--now do you really believe that--:badgrin: Many in Nevada personally blame Obama for 14% unemployment because he told Americans on two different occasions to stay away from Las Vegas--which again shows just how screwed up these polls are.

In fact here is a democrat CEO and strong supporter of Democrat majority leader Harry Reid's comments regarding Obama.

"I'm saying it bluntly, that this administration is the greatest wet blanket to business, progress and job creation in my lifetime. A lot of people don't want to say that. They'll say, 'Oh God, don't be attacking Obama.' Well, this is Obama's deal, and it's Obama that's responsible for this fear in America."

"The guy [Obama] keeps making speeches about redistribution, and maybe 'we ought to do something to businesses that don't invest or hold too much money.' We haven't heard that kind of talk except from pure socialists."

"Business is being hammered. The business community in this country is frightened to death of the weird political philosophy of the president of the United States. Until he's gone, everybody's going to be sitting on their thumbs."

Gee, you're even wrong about that. I refuted the map you dingbat; not the poster....

You really are unable to type a factual statement, aren't you?

Way to quibble. I wouldn't expect anything less. Well maybe something less, but definitely not more. :eusa_clap:

Rasmussen has it in a dead heat. So it has to be pretty close at least for now. Personally, I think the nation is pretty apathetic right now. I talk about this stuff all day on the forums but when I go out in public to the gym and the store and other places I'm not hearing much at all. I think that favors Obama b/c if people were talking about it, they'd get pissed and be more for Romney.

Ultra-right wing hack Rove says Nevada will likely go to Obama, and the polls confirm that,..

Wow, one of the worst presidents of the past century is ahead. I have no faith in this country anymore...It is merging with the third world and becoming nothing.

Awwww. We survived Bush, you will be fine after Obama's second term.

Russia survived Stalin, but I don't think that makes a good case for voting for Obama.

Comparing Obama to Stalin is a bit of a stretch.

Sounds true. But I think it's overly optimistic to see Romney even with Obama at this point.

nevada's problem is not Obama. The problem for nevada is many states have allowed casinos and arcades (Casinos that pay out in gift certificates for old people) to open. You no longer need to go to LV for your gambling fix. Also vegas has started to try and become more children and vacation heavy so you cannot rely on it being a sex and drug haven anymore. Due to their lower head count they have started to cut back on jackpots, and hotel bonuses. This has killed off their low roller visitors. Seriously, I am just moving to Alabama, a state which kept out the lottery until recently, and there are a couple of casino gambling points here. The big money in the northeast has foxwoods and mohegan sun which are high end high ranked casinos worldwide. They also have atlantic city of you want a boardwalk and shitty odds. Florida, where a lot of the elderly vegas visitors are, has a shit ton of arcades and gambling places, and the old school vegas people are getting ont hat age where they cannot afford vegas, and vegas is just too big for them to walk around in so they stay close to home and get their gambling fix where they live.

I am pretty sure the vegas people know it is no longer the only place for debauchery anymore, and they probably want a christian puritan like Romney in office in hopes he will encourage a crack down on gambling. It is not going to happen because it is a state issue, and broke states means less moral restrictions for tax revenue. The way i figure it is there is no saving vegas. the reasons for vegas was that you could do a lot you couldn't elsewhere, and without that nevada is just a desert. There are better places to gamble and vacation. If they are going to put their hopes in Romney or obama to save them they will be really disappointed.

[

Yes out of those 11 toss up states all but two of them are within the margin of error Nevada which has Obama +5.3 and New Hampshire which has Obama + 5.7 yes let's do cut the crap.

Wow, a bit touchy, aren't we?

Fact is, maybe one or two of those states might be in "error", but all 11 of them aren't.

And Obama doesn't have to win all 11. He can probalby win with only 4-5 of them. (Depending on which four, of course.)

Romney, on the other hand, HAS to win at least 8 of them.

Michigan where Romney wanted to let GM go out of business and Wisconsin which is dominated by Chicago's suburbs....

So was it crack or H?

PS: It's 121 days until the election...about 4 months.

PPS: Romney is losing bad in Virginia.

If GM for many years had been making a quality product, they wouldn't have been in danger of going out of business in the first place. Instead, consumers flocked to many of their competitors who built a higher quality product.
Thanks to you Dems, we've rewarded a corporation who created their own demise.
Romney, as with most conservatives believe that private business should sink or swim based on their own actions.

Interesting theory...but terrible politics especially when you're now asking Michigan voters to vote for you.

BTW; GM sales were up last quarter; Volt sales were strong.

Both sides recognise that, as was evident when Mitt claimed credit for the car industry recovery.

No--I don't believe these polls. No one can sustain 30 straight months of high unemployment and expect to win reelection.

The question is whether people believe that anyone else could have done better, given the damage that has been done to both the domestic and international economies after the meltdown of 2008.

The GOP is trying to sell two very weak arguments: (1) that this was just another recession, and that we should have popped out of it like any other, and (2) that the unemployment rate got as high as it did because of Obama. There are many people who simply aren't buying either argument, and that fact is being reflected in the polls.

I'm in the financial industry, I'm neck deep in this stuff every day, and I can't say for sure that a Republican president would have fixed anything by now. I can tell you this, however: The damage done to the global economy is deep, wide and nasty, and it could be a decade or more before it is healed, regardless of the political affiliation of the White House occupant.

I also think that, while they may not be in finance, there are many voters who would probably agree with me. These people don't blame Obama for where we are, they're concerned that Romney would put us right back to what got us here, and they simply like Obama more than Romney in general.

This doesn't make them stupid or evil or Marxists or communists; they're just reasonable people who aren't thrilled with their choices, who aren't sure that Romney has the fix, and who think that Obama needs more time.

Who wins? I have no idea. But I can understand why Obama is ahead in polls.
