Higher energy costs are just a reality as we peak on some resources like oil and perhaps coal (on energy extraction) as well as Uranium.... unconventional sources of oil have a lower EROEI which means more work to get it, which means a less flowing supply amid ever rising demand = higher prices.

It doesn't really matter what a politician says one way or another, this is just reality.
