The New York Times is Rolling out the "Record Cold/Snow IS Global Warming" Story Today... Of course, I am Paraphrasing them, but this TRIPE is so Predictable that it's just Sad.

Climate Fight Is Heating Up in Deep Freeze

By JOHN M. BRODER
Published: February 10, 2010

WASHINGTON — As millions of people along the East Coast hole up in their snowbound homes, the two sides in the climate-change debate are seizing on the mounting drifts to bolster their arguments.

Skeptics of global warming are using the record-setting snows to mock those who warn of dangerous human-driven climate change — this looks more like global cooling, they taunt.

Most climate scientists respond that the ferocious storms are consistent with forecasts that a heating planet will produce more frequent and more intense weather events.

I wonder why it is that the New York Times and the other True Believers in the "Free Press" can't seem to Quote the other "Climate Scientists" that aren't in their "Most" Category?...

Hell, I'd like to see how they Conclude that it's "Most" to begin with... They got a List somewhere?

One things is FOR SURE... This is NOT "Settled Science", as one Chicken Little once Claimed as he Played on the Fears of the Ignorant in this REPUBLIC.

But this has to be the Best part of the Entire Article:

Jeff Masters, a meteorologist who writes on the Weather Underground blog, said that the recent snows do not, by themselves, demonstrate anything about the long-term trajectory of the planet. Climate is, by definition, a measure of decades and centuries, not months or years.

Yet this Activist Blogger REGULARY Fixates on Perceived "Warmest Months on Record" on his own Blog:

Wunder Blog : Weather Underground

Is it NOT a Fact that Global Temps have NOT Risen since the El Nino of 1998?...

And of course this is ALL Based on Faulty and Manipulated Data from more than one Source in the Activist Global Warming Movement that has Infiltrated the System that Provides this Data.

Global Warming E-Mails Scandal Show Scientists May Have Cooked the Facts - Peter Roff (usnews.com)

And you can't Ignore the almost Childlike Insistence of these Activists on NOT Acknowledging that Temperature Data today is not even Comparable to the Data from 50 and 100+ Years ago.

Heat Island Effect | U.S. EPA

Yeah, the Heat Island Effect... Some of you may NOT have Heard of this Thanks to the Activists @ the New York Times and elsewhere.

One Example... Denver's OLD Official Temp Gauge was Stapleton Airport... Denver Proper.

It's New one?...

http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/KDEN.html

There is NO way in Hell that the Temp Readings from Stapleton to DIA are Comparable by ANYONE'S Standard, yet this kind of thing happens ALL of the Time with this "Data".

And what was it in 1930?... 1880?...

Gettin' the Picture here?

Thanks again New York Times... If you were any More Predictable, you'd be the Sun Rising in the East.

:)

peace...

We just had the warmest January on record, globally.

The big snow storms are not all that cold, not for that area. But they are definately precipitation events.

January 2010 UAH Global Temperature Update +0.72 Deg. C Roy Spencer, Ph. D.

The global-average lower tropospheric temperature anomaly soared to +0.72 deg. C in January, 2010. This is the warmest January in the 32-year satellite-based data record.

Finding places where its warmer and saying: see, there's global warming is NOT science
