They are opposed to the raise of the federal debt ceiling, unless the U. S. central government is more supportive of China and everyone else in the world, except the people of the U. S. A. The U. S. A. made 12% and got all the deficit back to boot. The GOP is opposed to that!

Irrelevant. Even if your conspiracy theory was true and no third party candidate were running, in 2010 the Republican candidate won 74% of the vote. Hochlin won 48% of the vote, the same as the Dem candidate won in that district in the 2006 Democratic wave.

Looks like the voters rejected Republican and Tea Party austerity.

Just a plurality. If you want to make something of it, as a rejection of the Republican mood of smaller government and less taxes, than she should have got a majority. As it was, she got the normal level of Democrat vote, which is lower than the normal level of Republican vote.

you might want to thank the Tea party for this victory. On the merits of her ideas, it was a thumping loss.

That's a lie. The average Democratic pct in this district since 2000 is 36%.

I disagree. The Tea Party candidate ran as a Democrat in the past, and, you chose not to note how many millions of dollars the GOP spent on their candidate. Spin won't help the R's, better their supporters recognize America has changed. No longer can a D or R expect the voters to vote in lock-step; the only set which does that today are the R members of congress. And if they don't begin to question their leadership they will be toast come 11/12.

The question is, after seeing this result, how many republicans will start to try and distance themselves from Ryan's plan. It's almost political suicide to come out and publicly support it at this point.
