NRA claims ‘massive Obama conspiracy’ not to ban guns | Raw Replay

You just can’t please some people.

In the eyes of National Rifle Association (NRA) executive vice president Wayne LaPierre, President Barack Obama’s decision not to pursue gun control legislation is a “massive conspiracy,” and just another reason not to give him a second term.

“[The Obama campaign] will say gun owners — they’ll say they left them alone,” LaPierre told an audience at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Friday. “In public, he’ll remind us that he’s put off calls from his party to renew the Clinton [assault weapons] ban, he hasn’t pushed for new gun control laws… The president will offer the Second Amendment lip service and hit the campaign trail saying he’s actually been good for the Second Amendment.”

“But it’s a big fat stinking lie!” the NRA leader exclaimed. “It’s all part of a massive Obama conspiracy to deceive voters and destroy the Second Amendment in our country.”

“Obama himself is no fool. So when he got elected, they concocted a scheme to stay away from the gun issue, lull gun owners to sleep and play us for fools in 2012. Well, gun owners are not fools and we are not fooled,” La Pierre declared.

A bunch of phantom fears is proof only of paranoia, The gun control lobby is dead and the NRA existed only to counter them, what use are they anymore? There is no secret plan to ban guns, too many liberals own them and are just as attached to them as anyone.

Point to it then, post some links to major efforts to ban guns on the same scale as the NRA.

Wiki says:

Measured in dollars, in 2007, gun rights political spending on lobbying totaled $1,959,407 versus gun control spending of $60,800.[58] The NRA is the largest gun rights lobbying organization in the United States.

Sixty thousand dollars worth of influence does not go far, the zombie gun lobby is being vastly outspent on an issue the Supreme Court supposedly settled for good.

yeah we know, nobody can think for themselves, we've heard it all before

Jeezuz, what the fuck do you think Fast and Furious was really about? It had less to do with drug cartels than it did about trying to show our 'lax' gun laws were to blame for the massacres of hundreds, if not thousands, in Mexico.

Talk about fucking dupes, you people take the damned cake!!

Exactly the same bullshit La Pierre fed his members. A sucker born every minute.

It's the most clever ploy ever.

In the light of SCOTUS's activist Second Amendment jurisprudence over the past few years, about the only thing left for the NRA to argue in favor of is why people should be allowed to own full automatics and rocket launchers. Since that sounds crazy to even a lot of people on their own side, they've got to come up with junk like this to remain somewhat relevant.

I remember once as a teenager getting a call from them. They meant to call my uncle who lived next door. It all about how the Democrats were in league with the UN to take everyone's guns and send "real, patriotic Americans" to concentration camps. I think part of my soul died that day.
