Now Turkey claims it DIDN'T KNOW doomed jet was Russian before blasting it out of the sky

Unfortunately, almost none of the above is true.

Fortunately, every bit I said is true and accepted in academic circles.

thanks Vik-------I refuse to take credit for ERUDITION in knowing stuff about the
history of the development of mathematics and study of the cosmos------I can't---
my brother is the expert ---he is a professor astrophysics-----big shot NASA guy and
recipient of the President's National freedom award------he told me. My eldest
brother-------the source of my education-----he got me into trouble at about age 8 or nine when he told me the process by which women become pregnant------and....
naturally.......I informed my little playmates...........it was a horrible neighborhood scandal----------mothers up and down the block were IN SHOCK------I was criminalized

That was a hilarious post :) Quite funny!

I actually forgot to mention Ayurveda in my reply to you. India was actually the first society to come up with scientific approach to treating illness. So here is the revised list:

MATHEMATICS
a. Indians invented decimal system used today.
b. They conceived the concept of zero along with the concepts of positive and negative intigers.
c. There was a book written in ancient India called Beej Ganit which is the first recorded treatise of Algebra as it talks about fundamental concepts of Algebra.
d. Way before Pythagoras, an Indian book called Surya Sidhantha lays out a geometric treatise what we wrongfully call Pythagoras theorem today.

LINGUISTICS
a. Sanskrit, the first scientific language known to mankind was invented in India. As we know, Sanskrit is the mother of all Indo-European languages such as Hindi, English, French, etc.
b. Indian grammarian Panini was the first linguist to conceive the idea of generative grammar as noted by famous modern linguists such as Noam Chomsky.

ASTRONOMY
a. India was by far the first civilization to come up with the concept of calendar. They used Moon's orbit around Earth to keep track of days, weeks, months and years.
b. They did not know about all the planets but they had knowledge of major planets orbiting Earth way before similar breakthroughs occurred in the Middle East or Europe.

MEDICINE
a. Ancient Indian book Ayurveda was the first book written by mankind on the subject of medicine.

Unfortunately, almost none of the above is true.

about every little technological innovation. --------and who should get the NOBEL

where the fallacy is PART OF THE SCHOOL CURRICULUM . In fact---on close
examination it turns out there there is no "muslim science, no muslim math,
no muslim medicine" Other people did it LONG before muhummad was born. -----------there ain't nuthin' exciting about "muslim or arab culture"<<<< a statement in direct disputation of the BAATHIST POV as horrifying to Baathists as ----"you ain't

It gets really amusing

MEDICINE

The Edwin Smith Papyrus from 3,000-5,000 BC is the first treatise on medicine ever discovered.
Ayurveda is a health book, not a medical treatise that discusses diseases, ailments and their treatments.

Let me pose some questions for you:

Can you name one single book written in PIE?

What was the name of the "Babylonian/Sumerian" mathematician who invented zero? What was the name of the book in which he talked about zero?

What was the name of the book written by Gougu? What technique did he use to prove Pythagoras theorem?

Vedas are the oldest books known to mankind. That makes Ayurveda the oldest book on the subject of medicine. In addition to exploring medicinal properties of plants, it also goes into details of physical therapy through postures called Yogaasnas.

I do not know anything about you personally but your posts reflect you have a poor educational foundation. After I posted my stuff, you probably searched all day on the internet to find materials to come up with what can only be characterized a very weak reply.

Unfortunately, almost none of the above is true.

Fortunately, every bit I said is true and accepted in academic circles.

So, the origin of languages interests me. But carry on Rosie, you do realize that simply posting insults is not Kosher anymore. Watch yourself.

I think he lacks solid educational background; it shows in his posts. There is no evidence that there ever was a language called PIE. It is nothing but a theoretical concept propagated by some scholars who did not want to accept Sanskrit as the root of all Indo-European languages. There are very few scholars who buy the concept of PIE, simply because there is no proof that the language ever existed. On the contrary, Sanskrit is taught in all major universities across the world. There have been numerous books on mathematics, astronomy and linguistics written in Sanskrit.

b. Generative grammar, ok.

ASTRONOMY

a. It was thought the Babylonians invented the calendar before anyone else. Recently the first calendar, was discovered in Scotland. It is 5,000 years older than the Babylonian calendar, they oldest known before this discovery.

Found after 10,000 years: the world’s first calendar

b. The Babylonians and Sumerians knew about planets way before anyone else.

Naw, as an amateur linguist I knew that the common origin of indo-european languages was not from India but from the Russian steppes, so the rest of your assertions were suspect. Took me about two minutes to debunk the rest of your assertions. As far as educational foundation, you would not have been accepted to attend the universities I attended for my undergraduate and graduate degrees. Let's leave it at that.

you are joke monte.. An amateur linguist? very amateur. You cannot even write a cogent sentence.

You have to remember. IRosie, that on the USMB forums, Mr. Saleem and his sidekick Haniyah have many times told the readers that they are the smartest ones here. I know you have been highly educated, and my gut feeling is that Vikrant has too. When someone brags like the team of Mr. Saleem and Haniyah, you just let it in one ear and out the other, so to speak. I think this tag team has forgotten which forum they are on at the moment. It is haram to post insults on another forum that they have happened to park themselves.

That was a hilarious post :) Quite funny!

I actually forgot to mention Ayurveda in my reply to you. India was actually the first society to come up with scientific approach to treating illness. So here is the revised list:

MATHEMATICS
a. Indians invented decimal system used today.
b. They conceived the concept of zero along with the concepts of positive and negative intigers.
c. There was a book written in ancient India called Beej Ganit which is the first recorded treatise of Algebra as it talks about fundamental concepts of Algebra.
d. Way before Pythagoras, an Indian book called Surya Sidhantha lays out a geometric treatise what we wrongfully call Pythagoras theorem today.

I really didn't want to go through this.
