Now that Obama has Blamed the Republicans

Can't wait to see Dimocrat bipartisanship working with Republicans on those nuclear power plants and offshore drilling for oil and natural gas Barry said we need.

Obama has never been "against" nuclear power nor offshore drilling. But just not to the exclusion of other alternative energy sources.

Unemployment in a way is his priority. He wants more of it. REALLY!!!

All of his policies are geared to causing jobs to go away making us poorer and putting us under the governments thumb.

He's not gonna really focus on jobs or the economy. He's just saying that to get some of the heat off his behind.

His focus is health care. That's the key to enslaving us. If he can't get that then he's failed. Once he gets that he was gonna nationalize the oil and energy industry.

He couldn't help accusing the Republicans of getting in the way. Yet he still has 60 votes as we speak in the Senate. What's been stopping him all of this time? Not the Republicans. Scott Brown has not even taken his seat officially and he's already blaming them.

pfffffffft

He is focusing on all of it, he has no choice. So you feel that healthcare reform is not necessary? You are in the minority on that one.

Republicans are getting in the way, on purpose... Democrats just have to start steamrolling over them to get things moving. Democrats will still have 59 after the centerfold takes his seat, enough to get a lot accomplished if they're smart.
The Dems have purposely left the Reps out and met behind closed doors and then Oshameus blames the Reps, typical Dems not taking responsibility. The Health care bill has nothing to do with health care it is all about Gov't controll.

Only after the Repubs decided to simply become a concerted "no" vote to anything Democrats brought up. The Democrats took the public option out just to get the bill rammed past other Dems, I hate that they did that but the Repubs are NOT coming forward with anything serious of their own.

If you think they are, you are delusional.

You say that "Republicans are getting in the way, on purpose.." and Democrats just have to start steamrolling over them to get thing moving." I think this is an interesting concept. They have had the rule in both Houses of Congress for the last year and could have passed any law they wanted to pass. The Republicans couldn't stop them for doing any of it because of the Democratic majority. The fact that the Democrats can't get their shit together shouldn't be blamed on the Republicans. At this point they are not a factor. The Democrats are their own worst enemy and you can blame the Republicans all you want to but it simply ain't so.

The difference between having the ability to "steamroll something through" with the Democrats and the Republicans when they were in power is that Obama would rather see legislation correctly debated by Congress, not by Executive Order or overkill by the Executive Branch forcing legislation through. If the health care bill got provisionally out of hand, it's because it's a huge policy mandate and Congress was doing precisely what the Constitution instructs it to do. He hasn't even forced a simple majority vote on health care. The Executive Branch doesn't make law; Congress does.

I would say given the fact that blaming Republicans for his and his parties failures is ludicrous were I them I would be angry and dig in my heals but then I am just that way. The fact is the Republicans have been in the minority and have been LOCKED OUT of all the debates and decision making so how can they be to blame? Talk about spineless scapegoating. JMHO

You must be watching a different show than that rest of us.

No shit. Sounds like rocks and starts with an F. At least a dozen substantive Republican amendments were added to the health care bill. How widely reported was that by the right wing noise machine?

Slate tracks every amendment to the Senate's health care reform bill. - By Timothy Noah - Slate Magazine

Bullshit. Obama did reach out to Republicans. A LOT. But he got smacked down. No sooner would some announcement be made about Republican support for one thing or another and Boner would have his face on live television saying no way, and then the herd would collect behind him. How do you think they got the nickname "Party of No"???

Here's an excellent historic scenario, not too long, since everyone seems to have forgotten.

As for caucuses "meeting behind closed doors," that happens with the majority of EITHER party when passing major legislation. You people are ignorant of history on that point, too.

Why should Republicans care? Only 6% of scientists are Republican. Nuclear power plants will be designed and built by Democrats.

when it snows in hell pantywaist. when it snows in hell they will..:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Ouch. Memo to Dean -- Don't get Mutha Willa pissed. She'll find out where you live and send one of her "boys" over to break your kneecaps.

"I inherited a huge debt from the republicans which I've done nothing about and even added to it. But they started it."

that's what I got from his speech

Then I guess you enjoy looking stupid.

For the crises were in, will they suck it in and make a change, or buck up and cause more problems?

Look I don't like the Obama plan or objective for America. I think the healthcare plan is an abomination. Taxes never seem to go down and illegal immigration is NEVER on the agenda for Open Door Obama. His cap and trade agenda on the fallacy of global warming is puzzling. However, it is beyond ignorant to think that what happens in a previous administration doesn't have any effect on today.

The mortgage market BLEW UP. The credit markets blew up. The student loan market blew up. Banks stopped lending to small businesses. That didn't happen over-night. It started with Jimmey Carter (Community Reinvestment Act) and was rapidly escalated with Clinton and foolishly ignored by Bush when all the clear tale signs were in his face. IF Bush was able to bring this to light 5 years ago and combat it (even back then we were seeing RECORD foreclosures), the mortgage meltdown would have been less harsh.

Believe it or not there was LITTLE he or anyone could do to avoid the negative effects once the bubble bursts. Massive unemployment was absolutely inevitable. No one could have prevented it.

The mortgage meltdown took many years of bad financial policies before it blew up. It nearly took down our entire economy. Its beyond ARROGANCE to say suck a collective fuck up could be fixed in 1 year. Heck even after 3 years, it might be IMPOSSIBLE to get back on track!

Well at least you acknowledge that there's no magic bullet, but of course you eliminate any blame for policies from 2001 through 2006 which simply exacerbated the overall economic problem. Nice. You've earned your Gold Star from the herd and you can go to the front of the class.

the dems have held a majority for three years and they have done nothing.....suddenly the gop is in their way.....how the fuck is that possible all they need to do is all vote together and they pass whatever they want....

for the self proclaimed smart party they sure are inept....

They've done "nothing"?? Hmmm, and here I thought the Dems had installed a socialist government, taken away your guns, rewarded Acorn for a job well done, caused another million or so babies to die by abortion, lied about glaciers melting, banned charter schools, reconfigured FEMA camps to house opposing conservatives, secretly met with Muslim fascists to institute a new Islamic World Order, and generally destroyed the United States of America as a sovereign nation.

No?

DONE NOTHING?

When George Bush took office, the Dow Jones was above 10,000.

When George Bush left office, the Dow Jones had DROPPED 3,000.

Now, with Obama working on it for the last year, the Dow Jones is back up to 10,600.

That's just plain facts.

Rubublicans try to enforce amnesia on the American voter

They fucked up big time and we are not going to forget it

Obama made a great speech last night; great for guaranteeing record Dem House losses in 2010, I think a swing of 100 is probably better than 50/50 right now, and if he's lucky, he'll get to complete his term.

How the fuck can he still complain about how bad things were/are? I mean wasn't he a grown up campaigning for a big job at the time? The little boy act is cute with maybe about 380 parts per million people in the country

You guys have been predicting huge Democratic losses every election. It isn't going to happen this time either.

What have Republicans done to deserve being swept into office in droves? That's what it will take, you know.

Ask any Republican or whatever they call themselves these days for a different solution and they come up with the same ones that didn't work before (which Obama also alluded to). Even McDonnell's response was loaded with conservative ideological platitudes, and zero solutions. They do love those platitudes...use them to get elected, then drop the ball.

Bob McDonnell's GOP Response: Full Text - CBS News

...Good government policy should spur economic growth, and strengthen the private sector’s ability to create new jobs.

...We must enact policies that promote entrepreneurship and innovation, so America can better compete with the world.

...What government should not do is pile on more taxation, regulation, and litigation that kill jobs and hurt the middle class.

...It was Thomas Jefferson who called for "A wise and frugal Government which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry ….and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned…" He was right.

...America will always blaze the trail of opportunity and prosperity.

...America must always be a land where liberty and property are valued and respected, and innocent human life is protected.

...Government should have this clear goal: Where opportunity is absent, we must create it. Where opportunity is limited, we must expand it. Where opportunity is unequal, we must make it open to everyone.

...Our Founders pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to create this nation.

...Now, we should pledge as Democrats, Republicans and Independents--Americans all---to work together to leave this nation a better place than we found it.

BUT WHERE'S THE BEEF???

You were too busy chowing down on Bob McDonnell's buns and missed the beef

"Republicans in Congress have offered legislation to reform healthcare, without shifting Medicaid costs to the states, without cutting Medicare, and without raising your taxes.

We will do that by implementing common sense reforms, like letting families and businesses buy health insurance policies across state lines, and ending frivolous lawsuits against doctors and hospitals that drive up the cost of your healthcare...

All Americans agree, this nation must become more energy independent and secure...
But this Administration’s policies are delaying offshore production, hindering nuclear energy expansion, and seeking to impose job-killing cap and trade energy taxes.

Now is the time to adopt innovative energy policies that create jobs and lower energy prices....

Many Americans are concerned about this Administration's efforts to exert greater control over car companies, banks, energy and health care.

Over-regulating employers won’t create more employment; overtaxing investors won’t foster more investment.

Top-down one-size fits all decision making should not replace the personal choices of free people in a free market, nor undermine the proper role of state and local governments in our system of federalism. As our Founders clearly stated, and we Governors understand, government closest to the people governs best."

His speech was full of "shoulds"' but no "we wills" is all I'm saying. I have nothing against the guy, and sorry to disappoint, but I never went for his type -- the Ken Doll image. Blech...

Not a single valid proposal in the whole speech....rhetoric does not substitute for actual policy.

Nice, folksy delivery though

What did he say different than last year? Now he's going to make unemployment his priority? Let's see if he can f- THAT up as good as he's done healthcare.
I'm afraid that is exactly what he will do.

We are going to be at 10% or higher for the next 18 months I think.

Leaders have answers and implement them. They don't look for others to blame in a crisis.

Yup that's the childish way to deal with things.

And that's the Republican way too.

obama acted like a typical left wing hack last night

he is not responsible for anything, he was never a senator
