Now that blackface is back in the news, I thought I’d share this...

You know, while I would be shocked at anyone appearing in blackface in 2019, back in the 60's and 70's, things were looked at a bit differently. Matter of fact, one of the most successful movies "Blazing Saddles", made quite a few racist references, especially the one where the sheriff takes himself hostage and then says "don't shoot the n----er", and it was a screamingly funny flick.

I look at people in blackface the same way. If it was done prior to 2000, then I am inclined to show forgiveness, at least, if they have since evolved in their views on race. If they haven't, then I simply shake my head and walk away from a racist who should know better in this day and age.

As far as Trudeau? I'd be willing to forgive him for what he did, because Canadian culture is much different than American culture. And, while what he did wasn't the greatest example of how to act, if he can show contrition and not do it again, he should be forgiven.

There is hardly anything racist about black face. Idiots and deceivers.
