Of course I don't agree with. You're not seriously basing your knowledge on the subject on what AlGore said are you? He brought up "lockbox" because he didn't want anyone to have the ability to tamper with it. he was playing to senior citizens who won't let you touch SS with a ten foot pole.

There will be more baby boomers retiring in the near future then there are people paying into the system. It's pretty simple math. Unless your solution is raises ss taxes astromically to cover this generation.

If you don't know how SS works here's a quick lesson. The money you are paying in now goes to recipients now. Meaning what you pay in doesn't go to you. It is used to cover socialcsecurity payments now. Hopefully you can now see the above predicament in the next few decades.

The stats I gave are completley factual. As for a surplus there damn well better be one or we have real problem. My point is that surplus will be gone in about 40 years.
