Nov 6, 1860 Abe Lincoln Was Elected

Had there been no Lincoln would America still have slavery?
The entire world’s nations ended slavery without bloodshed, except for one.

Thanks Dishonest Abe.

Soooooooo you're not counting the second independent republic in the Americas after us?
That was Haiti and they fought for their nation’s independence.

Correct. And there was bloodshed to end slavery. See your post above.

It's fair to say there was bloodshed over slavery all over the Americas in fact, whether there was an official 'war' or not. Just yesterday was the anniversary of the execution of Nat Turner. And for that matter, John Brown leading another slave revolt was a major trigger of the Civil War too, before the War happened.
Your point is irrelevant. Dishonest Abe didn’t invade the South, thus committing treason, to end slavery.

No. It was already on its way out, for both geographical and economic reasons; the admission of Texas as a slave state tanked the price of cotton, for one, and for two, the economic viability of slavery had already reached its geographical limits long before the Lincoln election, as Daniel Webster pointed out in the battle over the Wilmot Proviso. The cost of slaves was too high to keep the system going. Lincoln didn't give a shit about slaves, and neither do his modern apologists. We know this because none of his 'fans' here ever post anything at all about modern slavery or are members of any anti-slavery organization today, they just make noises about it because their Party tells them to snivel about it due to the south going Republican, is all.

Sad the closest to a slave you can have is a Mexican Illegal, huh?

Well, technically we're all slaves already. So, really, the closest you can get to seeign a slave is to take a good long hard look in the mirror. That might sting a little bit. But the truth do sting, though, don't it?

Get it? Got it? Good!

Lincoln didn't try to avoid war because his idiot generals said that a conflict wouldn't last more than a summer of moderately gentlemanly like conflict and he believed it. The Civil War was on Lincoln's head but a couple of generations of well educated excuse makers managed to turn a failed destructive inept administration into some sort of freaking experience in American idolatry. Lincoln's recovering alcoholic General Grant became president during the most corrupt administration in history and the fake legacy lived on.

I could never vote for someone as ugly as Lincoln.

I suppose but it isn’t off by much. Nearly the entire western world eliminated slavery without bloodshed. Had Abe not been such a scumbag, the USA would have too.

You could probably count on one hand the places that abolished without bloodshed, and even those would be places where the colonial power got pressured from its other colonies, with plenty of bloodshed.

People don't take kindly to being captured and shipped and owned. Slave revolts have existed as long as slavery has. Which means even if the Civil War never happened and slavery just went away, there had already been blood shed for it. So this particular "blame the Lincoln" dog ain't gonna hunt. And it's insulting to those who fought for it before then.
