Not Good For Obama: New Rassmussen Poll Has Obama 41%---Ron Paul 37%

FDR had the worst economic conditions in history and was reelected three times. Why? Because the public knew that he was not the cause of the Depression and that the Republicans had no magic pill to fix things. The Republicans also had no name candidates to run against FDR

Just like today

You have demonstrated the extent of your delusion.

Obama is not FDR. The circumstances of the 1930's is not comparable to the 2010's. There was no television, presidents could run for a unlimited number of terms. FDR was the closest thing America ever had to a dictator, so there are some comparisons that can be made to the man-child president we have now.

FDR and Obama both have the same respect for the constitution, none.

Keep telling yourself Obama will win because FDR did

Given the respect that historians give FDR as a US President, you have demonstrated who is delusional. You show the typical rightwing trait of if you don't like history....rewrite it and discredit the historians

You have no point to make do you? Perhaps you should read what some of those historians have said about FDR. FDR ordered the confiscation of gold from US citizens and imprisoned innocent Americans of Asian descent in internment camps--sounds like a wonderful president.

Listen, if that is your rationale behind how Obama is going to get re-elected with such horrid poll numbers, fine, but don't act like its based in sound logic.

his numbers aren't horrid. When they dip below 40, you let me know. As for FDR, he had to have been pretty powerful to be the reason the 22nd amendment was passed. He tried to expand the supreme court, for example. How do you know locking up the Japanese wasn't necessary?

Of course Ron Paul won't get the nomination if Sarah Palin enters the race but the White House has got to be worried with this poll.
Worried.....about which Republican throw-away nominee he beats????
323.png

You're gonna have to face facts....soon....that, whoever Republicans nominate will be the up-coming election's "Bob Dole"; a throw-away candidate....someone who's political-career is short-timing....someone who's willing to take THE Bullet, for God & Country & whatever (other) bullshit-reasons they use....besides the fact their Party no-longer having any need for them.

Both your nominees qualify.

I think there are now POINTS awarded, for stage-diving skills, as a matter-o'-fact; The Bob Dole Challenge!!!

FDR interred the Japanese Americans in an act of panic after Pearl Harbor. It was a human rights disgrace and a scar on his presidency

Can you show me all the rightwing conservatives of 1942 that stood up for the rights of the innocent Japanese?

Ron Paul is a perennial also-ran who is only even in the primaries because he has a huge cult following that throws money at him.

They show up big in phone polls and Internet blogs

When it comes to actually pulling a lever for Ron Paul, they are a non-factor

We went through the same BS with Ron Paul in 2008. Funny thing back then was, the establishment conservatives HATED Ron Paul and his legions because of his anti-Iraq war stance; it got so bad the hannity forums started blocking and banning Paul supporters from posting.

In a three-way general election matchup, Ross Perot has moved to a clear lead over both President Bush and Gov. Bill Clinton in the latest Gallup Poll.

In the telephone poll of 815 registered voters nationwide, conducted June 4 to 8, Mr. Perot was supported by 39 percent, Mr. Bush by 31 percent, and Mr. Clinton by 25 percent. The poll had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus four percentage points.

Tell that to the air traffic controllers in the Reagan era. You know what weakness is right?

So you are saying American are moronic enough to be fololed by some symbolic granstanding because we all know Reagan doubled the National debt.

Reagan more than tripled the national debt to get out of his economic crisis

what is it with you guys?
RR is dead

I'm not going to be sucked into this game with you. I said no president has ever been re-elected with economic numbers this horrid and your retort was "FDR did".

I'm not going to debate the presidency of FDR. All I am going to say that Obama is no FDR, and the fact that you believe he is again demonstrates how out of touch with reality you are.

There's one liberal in here telling everyone that Obama will be elected in spite of horrid economic numbers because FDR was, and you're spouting every possible comparison in the polls for the last fifty years.

It's pretty clear that the OP got under your skin and desperately reaching for any rationale.

The fact is the 2012 election is going to be unprecedented, and all other elections have nothing to do with the present--but especially the guy who think Obama is FDR

Rasmussens polls are a joke. His are accurate and one of two to predict the 2008 popular vote correctly. That guy and his proven accuracy is a joke.

If they had such a stellar-record, wouldn't they (simply) settle for OTHER evaluators singing-their-praises.

For all the leftists in here desperately trying to reconcile these poll numbers:

"President Obama's job approval rating averaged just under 47% in the latest quarter, continuing a pattern of sub-50% approval ratings for him that started early in 2010. While this is not an auspicious indicator for a president's re-election in the final months leading up to election, it is still too early to say what it forebodes for 2012. There is not a consistent enough pattern in the quarterly approval averages of prior presidents to say whether a 46.8% average approval in the 10th quarter points toward re-election or defeat. History suggests Obama's 12th and 13th quarter ratings are likely to be much more valuable in this respect." Obama Maintains Sub-50% Job Approval in 10th Quarter

Are you on drugs? Do you actually read the links before you make yourself look like an ass.

They were comparing their polls to the results, and of course you can only do that after the election.

You have the intelligence of a 3 year old

"The final Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Election 2008 showed Barack Obama leading John McCain 52% to 46%. We are pleased to report that those figures precisely matched the actual election returns." What is incorrect?

I want to clarify what numbers I was referring to. My first post on this thread was that no president has been re-elected with economic numbers this horrid, to which FDR was invoked.

As for how I know locking up Japanese wasn't necessary, because I am morally opposed to the forced internment of innocent people. That is what we were fighting against in WWII. You are probably the same people that denounced water-boarding, but now support the forced imprisonment of innocent families.

I never said Obama was in any way the equivalent of FDR. After Lincoln, FDR was our greatest president and he turned the US into a Superpower

However, you are deceptive in saying no president has been re-elected with such poor economic numbers.....FDR clearly was...and by a wide margin

What is similar to FDR is that this is the biggest economic crisis since the depression and the public blamed the republicans for both crises. Obama was dealt a horrible economy just like FDR. We will see how the public responds in 2012

A dead skunk would poll ahead of the dilettante that currently occupies the oval office. He's not the blank canvas he was in 2008. Hope and change has turned out to be a great slogan, and that's about it. He has a record now, and it stinks.
Wow....you "conservatives" are getting as skilled as Snooki Palin, when it comes to stringing-together detail-free rhetorical-phrases....and, offering such collections as complete-thoughts!!!!

Now, ya' gotta move-outta your comfort-zone (away from all the Teabaggers, Truthers, Birthers, Freepers, Dead-O-Heads, etc.), and start practicing with people who've successfully-completed Basic English requirements (and, learned to wear shoes; full-time)!

GOOD LUCK!!!!
