N Wales couple ran brothel empire so big it paid corporation tax

A North Wales couple ran a £3.8m brothel empire from their farmhouse home.

Sandra Hankin, a former escort, and her husband John were arrested during a police raid at the £500,000 detached house in the Denbighshire countryside.

They had been operating the brothels around Manchester for 14 years, and the lucrative business was said to have flourished because police provided security for the prostitutes, and the sex workers were given regular health checks by NHS medics.

Police raided their home in Corwen after coming under increasing pressure to shut down the operation following complaints from community leaders. At the brothels, they found coffee table brochures advertising the girls' services.

They included the girls' photographs and their ‘specialities’. Ledgers containing detailed business records of the illicit operation were found in the couple's study and conservatory at home.

I cant help thinking that this will end up as a Britcom type film in a few years. With a host of well known British character actors hamming it up.

I wonder what good has been achieved by this case ?
