here we go again ,,,keep building up communist countries

communist carter is going to n. korea ( again ) because they need food ( again )

" n. korea became - under klinton - the largest recipient of american aid in the pacific "=====fox news 18 oct. 2002 ''

" 9 previous presidents were ignored by klinton in 1994 when he gave n. korea 6 billion dollars to build nuke reactors " - fox news 18 oct. 2002

" catastrophe " by chris ruddy - klinton gave n. korea 500,000 metric tons of oil every year " p. 71 = klinton refused to drill for oil in alaska because he said it would take 10 yrs to get to the lower 48 anyway

20 june 06 madeleine albright (in mosocw) said - " n. korea wants nukes because bush went into iraq " - she forgot that on 2/18/98 she said - " stand firm against iraq wmd " = communist demokrats always go overseas during wars just to attack america

Difficult problem. The people there are starving. Back when Clinton was giving them aid (Most of which went to the military) folks were eating grass

Do you let them all starve? The North Korean government cares not at all about its own people. They prefer cool military toys to basic necessity.

Is the aid we give them going to prop up the monstrosity that is the Kim dynasty? Things were worse back in the day, but the dynasty survived.

Before we give them any kind of aid, they should make definite reforms we can see that will allow the people to feed themselves.

I don't think giving them anything is a good idea because it doesn't go the people anyways, it goes to the Military and elite. The rest of the world cares more about the North Korean people than their own government does, I don't mean to sound cold hearted but fuck North Korea. I wouldn't give them a fucking thing until they take down their nuclear program and start behaving like a normal country.

last time round they were willing to let a considerable percentage of the population starve rather than give up their toys.

It is a truly evil state that holds its own people hostage

So why should the US throw billions of dollars at them and help keep this evil regime on their knees? let that government die, than hopefully South Korea can absorb the North and they can finally be unified.

let them starve ! --- ex-president hoover wanted to send food to west europe when it was under nazi control - roosevelt said no! - he was not going to feed nazis - but its ok to feed communists ! - there r no farmers in communist countries - there r just state workers - that is why no communist country can ever feed their own people -

Give them food and give them weapons. See how long they put up with the Progressive Utopia that is NoKo

I personally think North Korea is a sick country and needs to be cut off from the rest of the world until the government falls.

U.N. food aid to North Korea declined in February
March 28, 2017 - Insufficient funds have impeded the delivery of food to North Korean children.
International food aid to North Korea has declined drastically, and the World Food Program can no longer provide nutritional bars to 190,000 North Korean children. A lack of funds was cited as the cause of the shortage, Radio Free Asia reported Tuesday. According to the report, insufficient funds have impeded the delivery of food to 190,000 North Korean preschoolers, beginning in March. The United Nations agency had previously said it would need $1.29 billion to supply food to vulnerable groups in North Korea.

But only 28 percent of the U.N. target has been secured, according to the WFP. In February, the U.N. agency managed to supply 1,504 tons of fortified foods to 680,000 vulnerable North Koreans. Those figures indicate a decrease of 1,062 tons of food from January, and shows that an additional 143,000 people were excluded from food aid, month to month.

North Koreans work in the fields near the North Korean city Sinuiju, across the Yalu River from Dandong, China's largest border city with North Korea. A domestic food shortage and a decrease in international food aid to the country means less nutritional support for North Korean children, according to the World Food Program.

The World Food Program also said 18 million North Koreans, or 70 percent of the total population relies on food distributed by authorities, but the rations remain at 400 grams daily per person, or 67 percent of the U.N.-recommended amount.

In January the WFP distributed more than 2,500 tons of food across 63 North Korea counties in nine provinces. The international food aid added about an average of 100 grams of food a day to the North Korean diet, according to VOA. In 2016 North Korea's food shortage worsened in areas heavily hit by floods that washed away farmland and forced people out of their homes.

North Korea strikes would be blocked, U.S. State Department says
March 27, 2017 -- Any North Korea attack would be blocked from striking targets, the U.S. State Department said Monday.
Spokeswoman for the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs Anna Richey-Allen told Voice of America by phone the United States stands ready to defend itself against the North Korean threat, and come to the defense of allies Japan and South Korea. The U.S. official urged North Korea to refrain from provocative acts, strong rhetoric, and issuing threats to international peace and security. The spokeswoman also called on Pyongyang to make the right choice by returning to serious dialogue in abidance with international obligations and commitments.

Four missiles during a ballistic rocket launching drill of Hwasong artillery units of the Strategic Force of the Korean People's Army. Pyongyang’s belligerent rhetoric has been followed by frequent missile tests, and, according to experts, an increased likelihood of a nuclear weapons test.

North Korea had recently threatened to engage in "special preemptive operations" while denouncing the U.S.-South Korea military exercises on the peninsula. But it is North Korea that is acting out of the global norm. Richey-Allen said United Nations member states are sending observers to the joint drills. North Korea, by contrast, does not invite international observers, the spokeswoman said, according to VOA. Pyongyang's belligerent rhetoric has been followed by frequent missile tests, and, according to experts, an increased likelihood of a nuclear weapons test.

A recent study from the Center for Strategic and International Studies' Beyond Parallel initiative on Korean unification indicates there is more than a 50 percent chance of North Korea weapons of mass destruction activity within the next 30 days. The analysis uses big data analytics and open source intelligence tools to make forecasts, according to CSIS. North Korea may also have conducted another missile engine test Friday, CNN reported. The engine technology could be eventually used in the launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile, according to the report.
