The following information was released by Radio Free Asia:
North Korea may have abducted up to 180,000 foreigners from 14 countries over the last six decades, much more than what has been reported, according to a new report by a U.S.-based human rights watchdog.
Hundreds of foreign abductees whose identities are unknown may remain in closely-monitored detention in the reclusive Stalinist nation, said the report released by The Committee for Human Rights in North Korea (HRNK) on Thursday.
The report, entitled "Taken! North Korea's Criminal Abduction of Citizens of Other Countries," said North Korea's history of abducting foreigners is not restricted to Japan and limited to a small group of people as the regime would have the international community believe.
HRNK unveiled the report at a press briefing in Washington that was attended by the Japanese ambassador and diplomats from South Korea, Thailand, and the Netherlands.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Il admitted the existence of an abduction program to then-Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi during the latter's visit to Pyongyang in September 2002, but sought to downplay its scale.
The report said that while Kim eventually disclosed the abduction of 13 Japanese nationals, his admission "did not tell the whole story" and left "misleading impressions."
"The impression deliberately left by Kim Jong Il was that the number of abductions was small, carried out by a handful of perpetrators in disparate actions and limited in scope," the report said.

this has been going on - on a regular basis in japan - people r abducted on the beach and drugged - they wake up shipped in a creat to n. korea - many committed suicide - we have these moron amerikans going to n. korea again to see why they cant feed themselves - the reason n. korea cant feed their own people is because there r no farmers
all farmers are just state workers = who wants to work their ass off for the state = bus amerika will feed them again ! = and our farmers in calif cant get water to grow crops because of some communist green law not approved by congress

The State Department has issued a long and detailed advisory warning on travel to North Korea. Just one paragraph and a link for other idiosyncracies that will get you in trouble while you are there if you aren't careful.

Travel Warning
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE
Bureau of Consular Affairs

Korea, Democratic People's Republic of

November 03, 2011

The Department of State continues to warn U.S. citizens about travel to North Korea (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, or DPRK). The North Korean government will detain, prosecute, and sentence those who enter the DPRK without first having received explicit, official permission and an entry visa from its government. Travel by U.S. citizens to North Korea is not routine, and U.S. citizens crossing into North Korea, even accidently, have been subject to arrest and long-term detention. Since January 2009, four U.S. citizens have been arrested for entering North Korea illegally. In 2010, a fifth U.S. citizen, who had a valid DPRK visa in his U.S. passport, was arrested inside North Korea on unspecified charges. U. S. State Department on Travel to North Korea.

Hey leave the North alone! They just need workers for the joint manufacturing facility that they operate with South Korea.

Been doing it for 7 years now.

Don't pay any attention to that south korean troll. He spams this crap to 100's of message boards. His flag waving, war mongering stupidity has become tiresome.

The CIA Factbook shows that North Korea has its finger in every illicit drug trade, R.C. They engage in warmongering and threatening other countries, namely ours. And the State Department warns Americans of a lot of unfair dangers they could face while there with limited representation by the Swiss Embassy for their interests while incarcerated if under any kind of suspicion. Taking a picture with a camera is tantamount to espionage in the country. They do not care for foreigners and will imprison them at the drop of a hat.

The real key to ending this gross tyranny is China (tyranny lite), as long as China views it in her interest to keep Killer Kim and the Hermit Kingdom alive, it will remain.

The other key is South Korea, the Sunshine Policy is a complete failure, a clear line must be drawn that no cooperation is possible with the current regime.

The real reason North Korea even pursued the Sunshine Policy is in an attempt to drive a strategic wedge between South Korea and the USA.

Who's that? And are you actually defending North Korea?

And to get a lot of free stuff.

North Korea economic policy had always been international extortion. Be bellicose, create an incident and wait for the US to pay them off. Bush 2 put an end to that by demanding all the affected nations get involved in the talks with North Korea. Why do you think North Korea was so against it? A major source of income went bye, bye.

One of North Korea's largest sources of foreign currency is allowing its territory to be used for shipment of illegal narcotics.

North Korea's largest source of foreign currency is counterfeiting it.

North Korea and Iran were the reasons why the US Treasury decided to start printing new bills with the holographs a few years back.
