Two anecdotes:

1. from the Raleigh News&Observer June 5: "Catchy Tune .... I really had to laugh when I read "Revved up Republicans ready to rumble" June 3. Did they really play The Who's song "Won't Get Fooled Again"? Do they know all the lyrics? "Meet the new boss--same as the old boss." Great campaign slogan.

2. North Carolina is planning it's coastal development for the next 100 years and is quite concerned about global warming and the forecast that water levels will rise about 3 feet. The state Republicans passed a measure that coastal planning should be based on water levels of the PAST 100 years where the water level has gone up 8 inches. In essence, they have made global warming illegal.

Nice place you got there, Fred, Raleigh. Crabtree Mall at Glenwood Ave, Leadmine Rd. The Pit where all of Raleigh's elite meet to eat and heat. The hometown to Golden Corral. St Raphaels Church on Falls of the Neuse. The pancakes at the IHOP down from the church in Raleigh seem to taste better than at any other IHOP anywhere else. There's a saying in Raleigh "If you're from Raleigh, you must be just moving in or moving out." Admittedly, Raleigh's dog parks are a lonely place top be if you're a Republican. Hopefully you survived the April 17th tornado unscathed.
Neither The WeatherChannel nor anyone from the National Weather Service can make an accurate forecast for the weather seven days in the future, how can anyone in their right mind even presume to plan for the weather 100 years hence? Exercise in futility is more like it.
Have you met bigreb yet?
