North Carolina GOP solves the sea level rise problem

Here's how you solve it:

Move the lifegaurd stations 6 feet inland.

Problem solved.

I've got an even better solution: just ignore it.

As the idiotic anti-science rightwingnuts want to do, you mean. Unfortunately for all of us, sticking your head in the sand and ignoring reality only works for a short time until reality bites you in the ass. As it is going to 'bite' those moronic Republican North Carolina legislators. The effects of global warming and the associated climate changes are getting more and more apparent to everyone with more than half a brain and as the effects start really hitting people where they live, there is going to be a strong political reaction against the anti-reality, "lets pretend it isn't happening" stance of the rightwingnuts in our state and federal governments.

Question..........cheesedick..........if everybody is so sure "its happening", why is Cap and Trade dead?

The political reality from Realville is..........nothing is happening:funnyface:. Which makes all the science moot........jackass:D. Youve posted up that gay schematic 200 times in the past year. FIgure there are at least a few hundred thousand nutters like you X 200. You and the nutters say "its apparent to everyone". Where is there one shred of evidence for that?

Meanwhile.............skooks delivers the devestation s0n!!! List of concerns for the public.........."global warming" is 22nd..........out of 22!!!!:fu::fu::fu::fu::fu::fu:

Green Car Congress: Pew survey finds US public ranks economy as highest priority policy issue, global warming as lowest

You have to believe whatever Republican scientists say because all that Republican knowledge is concentrated into a mere 6% of all scientists. They may only be 6%, but they have gone "rouge".

By the way Thunder.......................

Time to wake the fuck up and smell the maple nut crunch.................the Oz dwellers are going to continue throwing bombs for the gay..........years from now, the shit will be the same. Ans they'll all be posting up the same gay fringe lunatic shit. And skooks will be here having the last laugh every time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will conceed this........if this pic is realeased in mid-January from central Alaska, the dynamic will change..........global warming will become a chief concern of the public..........

and not a moment sooner.

Only meatheads think the public is going to blow out their fireplaces and spend 50K for a little gay electric car and give up their iPhones.......... due to less than 1/2 a degree temperature change.

Call it..................Realville.

Now that you've tasted the kookster's insane nonsense, try a dose of reality on the subject of the sea level changes our descendents will face.

Global sea level likely to rise as much as 70 feet for future generations
Rutgers University Press Release
19-Mar-2012
(excerpts)

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. -- Even if humankind manages to limit global warming to 2 degrees C (3.6 degrees F), as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change recommends, future generations will have to deal with sea levels 12 to 22 meters (40 to 70 feet) higher than at present, according to research published in the journal Geology. The researchers, led by Kenneth G. Miller, professor of earth and planetary sciences in the School of Arts and Sciences at Rutgers University, reached their conclusion by studying rock and soil cores in Virginia, Eniwetok Atoll in the Pacific and New Zealand. They looked at the late Pliocene epoch, 2.7 million to 3.2 million years ago, the last time the carbon dioxide level in the atmosphere was at its current level, and atmospheric temperatures were 2 degrees C higher than they are now. "The difference in water volume released is the equivalent of melting the entire Greenland and West Antarctic Ice Sheets, as well as some of the marine margin of the East Antarctic Ice Sheet," said H. Richard Lane, program director of the National Science Foundation's Division of Earth Sciences, which funded the work. "Such a rise of the modern oceans would swamp the world's coasts and affect as much as 70 percent of the world's population."

"You don't need to sell your beach real estate yet, because melting of these large ice sheets will take from centuries to a few thousand years," Miller said. "The current trajectory for the 21st century global rise of sea level is 2 to 3 feet (0.8 to1 meter) due to warming of the oceans, partial melting of mountain glaciers, and partial melting of Greenland and Antarctica." Miller said, however, that this research highlights the sensitivity of the earth's great ice sheets to temperature change, suggesting that even a modest rise in temperature results in a large sea-level rise. "The natural state of the earth with present carbon dioxide levels is one with sea levels about 20 meters higher than at present," he said.

Unfortunetly, if the 'Alarmists' record on predictions continues as it has been, we can expect 2 or more meters of rise by 2100. Arctic Ocean ice melt is at where the scientists thought it would be in 2050. And their predictions for 2050 were met with chortles from the brainless. Now we are looking at an Arctic Ocean essentially free of ice by 2030, possibly by 2020.

OK Ray.......so lets give you the 2030 number. So.........what?!!!!!!!!!!! What are we to do? Lets say in two years we go to zero fossil fuels ( probably take alot longer than that just from a practical sense ).......are we sure we avoid disaster? How many people could ever be convinced of that, especially when the level of sacrafice is considered. Shit........look at what just happened in Wisconsin:eek: These people living high on the hog were nearly burning down the capitol not wanting to sacrafice a damn thing!! And what of China? The environmentalist crowd makes out like its not even part of the equation here.:slap:

IDK.........to me, if scientists said tomorrow that a mega-asteroid "might" hit earth in 2020, and the solution to avoid total destruction is to send 70% of your check to the government, 90+% are going to say "meh".

This whole concept of controlling nature is only embraced by the agnostics, which is why the whole debate is a bit absurd when it comes right down to it. I just for the life of me cant see people falling all over themselves to jump back to 1850's style transportation and communicating via pony express. Brainless? Maybe..........but to me, its more about pragmatism.

Avoiding shitting in our own bed is not controlling nature. And we are not going to avoid disaster. That is already gaurenteed by the present levels of GHGs. We can ameliorate the disasters by planning for them, and reducing future emissions as rapidly as possible. As for China and India's emissions, that represents a real problem, although China is presently the biggest investor in alternative energy.

OP is doing what Warmists do best: Mislead People.
From the article:
Republican legislators circulated a bill (which hasn't passed) that states, "rates shall only be determined using historical data, and these data shall be limited to the time period following the year 1900."
Where's the "made illegal" part? Hint: It isn't there.

I realize you ignorant Warmist Alarmist types are easily influenced by Snake Oil Salesmen with flashy slide show presentations of icebergs greaking off and polar bears whom you seem to think can't swim. And you wanna' use this false info to enact laws straight out of Agenda 21 to shut down our economy, but this is from the NOAA:

C3: NOAA Says U.S. Cooling Over Last 15 Years: -3.4°F/Century Rate, As of July 2011
For the 10-year period ending July 2011 (August 1, 2001 thru July 30, 2011 – 120 months), the cooling trend accelerates to a very significant minus 12.4°F per century rate - again, per the updated NOAA/NCDC temperature records.
"The Sky is falling! The Sky is falling! Give us all you rights and shut down your Economy! NOW!"

You get your news from Comedy Central yet you make fun of anyone who watches FoxNews. :cuckoo:

You people are such Dopes!

Anyone who disagrees with you is a dope, huh? Well, I'm no scientist mad or sane but I do put my faith in the scientific community and not in people like you. Linked below is an opinion piece not based on ideology. Can you say the same?

You don't need to be a professional musician to know when a musical instrument is out of tune either. No Science degree is needed to see what a scam this all is.

The Earth is 4.6 Billion years old and it's faced greater challenges than just humans living and breathing on it.

If you hate Humanity (and yourself) enough to believe that we're destroying the Earth and the solution is to have less Humanity then fund abortion clinics and show some leadership: kill yourself.

Man didn't create the Earth so Man cannot destroy it either.

They're also the biggest investor in fossil fuels and they open 3 new coal powered plants a week.

Why do they do that?

Because they have most of the factories that make all the "Alternative Energy" crapola that the world thinks it needs.

If the World wanted Fake Rubber Dog Shit they would have factories churning it out 24/7, 365 as well. That doesn't mean the ChiComms actually believe in the Global Warming Religion.

By "agnostics", you obviously mean everyone who isn't in your little dingbat cult of denial of reality. I just knew this matter was a religious issue with you since you are oblivious to the actual scientific facts, you poor retarded troll.

I've read your couple of posts, and I'm getting the idea you are the kind of DD, who likes to read my replies, since I happen to be a musician, who tunes well and plays well, in tune, with a common stringed instrument, so let's go.

The Earth provides a threatened habitat, for modern humans, and your attitude is not going to preserve that habitat.
"If you hate humanity . . ." You are not a smart man because you leap to this premise; in fact, you are at least a DD, maybe all the way, to DDD. So love youself, and don't make a little D because if you do, the poor kid will possibly be DDDDDD!

Don't offer stupid advice, idiot. You cannot re-create the Earth, so don't mess with it, since you are so stupid, you overlooked how humans are radically threatening the human habitat, which like the failing animal and plant habitats can be ruined, so humans join Mass Extinction Event 6, which is likely underway, all-wicked-ready.

Quit huffing car exhaust. It's affected you. I hope that's all that's wrong.

if anyone is actually interested in reading the actual documents. eg the doomsday report based on Rahmsdorf, then the rebuttal based on real data, the criticisms of the doomsday report, the reply for the doomsday report, and the reply to the reply, then go to http://www.nc-20.com/pdf/CRC_Addendum_Commentary.pdf and click the links.

Read the following, based on satellite data, since 1993:

http://oceanservice.noaa.gov/education/pd/climate/factsheets/issea.pdf

Satellite observations available since the early 1990s provide more accurate sea level data with nearly global coverage. This decade-long satellite altimetry data set shows that since 1993, sea level has been rising at a rate of around 3 mm yr–1, significantly higher than the average during the previous half century. Coastal tide gauge measurements confirm this observation, and
*
Global sea level is projected to rise during the 21st century at a greater rate than during 1961 to 2003. Under the IPCC Special Report on Emission Scenarios (SRES) A1B scenario by the mid-2090s, for instance, global sea level reaches 0.22 to 0.44 m above 1990 levels, and is rising at about 4 mm yr–1. As in the past, sea level change in the future will not be geographically uniform, with regional sea level change varying within about ±0.15 m of the mean in a typical model projection. Thermal expansion is projected to contribute more than half of the average rise, but land ice will lose mass increasingly rapidly as the century progresses. An important uncertainty relates to whether discharge of ice from the ice sheets will continue to increase as a consequence of accelerated ice flow, as has been observed in recent years. This would add to the amount of sea level rise, but quantitative projections of how much it would add cannot be made with confidence, owing to limited understanding of the relevant processes.

----------------

The moral? If you bring a hockey-puck, to a rink, grab a hockey STICK, since AGW is real, GHG concentrations are accelerating at 10x the level, preceding the PETM, and your missing-Calinkey instruments going back are not picking up as much, as satellites pick up, all over the world, where accerating sea level rise is underway and measurable.

Only a neo-con, wingpunk ASSHOLE, from missing-Calinkey or Virginia or some other retarded red state could discard satellite reports, of SLR. The red-state idiot brigades have nothing to do, with better GOP players, like the Koch Bros., who funded a study, which found global warming is real, or Trakar, who posts at this site.
