was BY far less successful in Italy than it was in Poland---but
that phenomenon was a result of the VERY LIMITED COOPERATION
of the local population. There is also "evidence" that it was the

Nazi Germany controlled Auschwitz, and it's first victims were Polish POW's.

As for Italy, they didn't go along much, if at all with the Holocaust.
