Nobel Peace Prize awarded to ALL Americans

President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. But what the Nobel committee really did was say thank you America for getting rid of one of the largest threats to world peace. Namely, the right wing republicans.

After eight years of unprovoked wars, threats, blocking global warming treaties, bullying behavior and arrogance, the world is standing up and saying

Good Job America!

Unprovoked?

The Nobel committee praised Obama's creation of "a new climate in international politics" and said he had returned multilateral diplomacy and institutions like the U.N. to the center of the world stage. The plaudit appeared to be a slap at President George W. Bush from a committee that harshly criticized Obama's predecessor for resorting to largely unilateral military action in the wake of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

After reading the reasons for the prize, it was pretty clear that it was a repudiation of the Bush administration. Essentially, Obama got the prize for not being Bush.

Yes, and I don't think that is a good enough reason. But then again, I'm not on the Committee.

It is a wonderful reason. It also lets the leading neo-cons know that if the travel internationally, they will be interested.

Not planning of copying the pictures Crusader Frank was 'so kind' to post. But please tell us how Iraq had a hand in 9/11. TIA.

Yeah, the pictures put a whole damper on that stupid fucking "USA is so darn Meannnn!" Party

Al Qaeda was in Iraq and just because Russia successfully moved the WMD's out does not mean they weren't there.

Al Qaeda was in Iraq
No - they weren't.
They CAME there AFTER our invasion because our invasion provided them with furtile ground for recruiting. Sadaam and Bin Laden were bitter enemies. Sadaam ran a secular brutal dictatorship and feared Bin Laden's and Al Qaida's committment to non-secular brutal dictatorships.

Even Bush gave up and admitted the non-connection. Didn't you get the memo?

Right and Mooky al Sadr is actually running Iraq from his base at Basra.

If you get more than one thing right in a row I might start listening to you and your "facts" and "ideas"

Cheney:
“I do not believe and have never seen any evidence to confirm that [Hussein] was involved in 9/11.”
Rice:
“No one was arguing that Saddam Hussein somehow had something to do with 9/11.”
Bush:
“No, we’ve had no evidence that Saddam Hussein was involved with September the 11th.”

Condi Rice, George Bush, Dick Cheney, and a gigantic Senate Intelligence report all say there was never a link between al Qaeda and Sadam Hussein.

So what you are saying is that anyone who would have become President this year would've gotten it... Thank you for further pointing out that it's not that Obama deserved it's that he just happen to be in power at the time...Thanks!

The U.S. military's first and only study looking into ties between Saddam Hussein's Iraq and al Qaeda showed no connection between the two, according to a military report released by the Pentagon.

But YOU Know more than all these folks. So me AND George Bush, Condi Rice, and Cheney ALL got it wrong but YOU (and apparently you alone) got it right. YOU are privvy to information that has been withheld from me, George Bush, Condi Rice, and Cheney???? And - let me get this straight - until I ACCEPT this premise - then I am the delusional one??????

Gee, lemme think ..........................................

Sorry rightwinger--but if there is going to be a peace award given--should it not come at the results of peace.

In cases like these, I really do wish the NPC look seriously at political prisoners and fighters for Socially libertain views versus a politician that talks peace yet have not accomplished peace.

Obama winning the peace prize--premature at BEST!

Whether or not you agree with the criteria - whether or not you agree with the selection or the achievements or lack of achievement - there is absolutely no denying three things:
1) Obama has elevated the stature of the U.S. around the world
2) This award is a manifestion of #1) and it also helps the U.S. gain international approval and cooperation to achieve our goals.
and
3) Numbers 1) and 2) help us in making the U.S. a safer and more secure place.

If your personal political ideology prevents you from being happy about this - then THAT is a very clear example of ideology before country.

Anything that pisses off the right wing this much has got to be good!

He got the award because he isn't Bush. Just like Gore got it because he isnt Bush. The Euros hate strong figures ***t defend America and love weaklings ***t pretend they really matter. Nothing more to it ***n ***t. The Nobel Committee has beclowned itself with this latest boner. No one will take them seriously anymore. It is too politicized.

Bush a strong figure? Serioulsly? You must not have seen the video where he was notified of the attack on 9/11? The guy sat there for nearly ten minutes pissing his pants. Good thing he was wearing his depends or there would have been a trail from the class room to the car waiting outside.

Bush is the classic "Chicken Hawk".

Bush could actually throw a baseball OVER the home plate.

i disagree, it is arguable. Obama hasn't done jack shit to make America a safer place. He hasn't done jack shit to "get along" with those traiterous dogs in Europe, and he hasn't done jack shit to dismantle Bush policies. If you want to run your mouth, give some proof.

Obama elected 44th President of the United States. Right wing reaction? "Where's his proof of citizenship?"

Obama to speak to the nation's school children. Right wing reaction? "Indoctrination!"

Obama introduces "Cash for Clunkers" which stimulated sales in the nation's beleaguered automobile show rooms. Right wing reaction? "It's a disaster!"

Obama pushes health care reform. Right wing reaction? "Socialism!"

Obama fails to win Olympic Games for Chicago. Right wing reaction? "Hurray!"

Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize. Right wing reaction? "It's a sham! A cabal of Socialists award this prize!"

Anyone else see a pattern developing here? Whatever the President does is met by de-legitimization by the rabid Right wing! And what has that Right wing offered as a viable alternative to President Obama and his policies? Zilch!

And the Right wing desperately wants to lead this nation again. And their agenda is zilch.
