Jesus swept alright but I'm sure he doesn't intend for Texas to be Louisiannas' trash can. With all those strip clubs and bars left behind, I wouldn't be so sure he's done sweeping either.

So blame Texas. They were the one with the Welcome Mat. They loved the national press.

I wonder when Jesus is going to come and sweep up all the racist slobs who talk endlessly about how much they love Jesus. If I were Jesus I'd be bored with them-they are like stalkers.

Invitations were sent out by several states. Texas just happened to be the easiest and closest place for them to be taken. Fuck the press. They won't be here to cover the cost nor the results of our hospitality.

Why are you so angry about taking these people in? Are they causing trouble in Austin? I understand the potential there for a mess but it hasn't happened yet has it? :usa:

I hope most of them stay in Texas, Oklahoma, Georgia, etc and move around to new, better lives in other areas of the country. New Orleans should be left to rot and the money to rebuild it should go to the survivors for new lives somewhere else.
If another flood strikes New Orleans, ZERO government assistance should be given to anyone who lives there.

Most of the survivors lived in poverty-ridden, gang-infested neighborhoods. They deserve a chance at a new life.

And I do not like the government paying hundreds of billions of dollars to Americans who already got assistance before because they're living in high-instance hurricane/flooding areas.

Should we abandon the state of Florida? It meets your criteria of being a "high-instance hurricane/flooding area. When did New Orleans ever recieve billions of federal dollars because of flooding prior to Katrinia? New Orleans had a problem with crime and poverty. I believe something like a fourth of the people in New Orleans were below the poverty level. What big cities in America don't have a problem with this? The middle class and wealthy people live in Jeferson and St. Tammany parish. New Orleans was a top 5 tourist destenation in the United States. It was not the ghetto that you are making it out to be. I truly hope that the evacuees come back and help build a bigger and better New Orleans. I'm one of them and I'm going to work Monday. BTW I'm a tax payer and so are the people of the New Orleans area. Geez even the French are willing to help rebuild New Orleans but you are not.
