No Peace With Palestinians

P F Tinmore, et al,

OH, I think you've made a mistake here. All the Israelis have to do is maintain the Status Quo. Israel will keep advancing economically. commercial, industrially, scientifically, and politically into the 21st Century. The stifled Arab Palestinians of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and West Jerusalem will continue to be stuck in the past arguing about what they lost over the last half century (plus).

So far, no one has really started to address what it would need to keep the sovereign integrity of Israel intact and yet, --- drag the Arab Palestinians of the West Bank and Gaza Strip out of the muck and mire.
Indeed, Israel has really created a problem for itself.
(COMMENT)

Well, it is more of an inconvenience than a problem. Israel will have to budget in advance for periodical confrontations that the Arab Palestinians will provoke; requiring Chapter VII responses.

As long as the Arab Palestinians maintain ties with the Quds Force and DAESH, the more they will be thankful that the Arab Palestinian are contained and directed against the Israelis. As unstable the government is with the Arab Palestinians, in constant internal turmoil, will never achieve its goals (whatever they may be at any one time). Israel's existence continues to be a form of cultural humiliation at the hands greater military prowess that coupled with Western technology the Arab Palestinians were denied because of the danger they pose (both inside and outside the Arab League community). Whatever you might think, emotionally, about the Arab Palestinian struggle, the governments of the Arab League have seen the future foretold in the first decade of the 21st Century. None of the Arab State leaders want to mimic the smoldering wreckages of Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria. And the number of generationally manufactured Jihadist, Deadly Fedayeen, Hostile Insurgent, Radicalized Islamist, and Asymmetric Fighters produced annually by the Arab Palestinian self-induced martyr societies, they Arab Leaders really don't want these internal security problems set loose on an unsuspecting society.

Most Respectfully,
R

It is truly amazing all the worldly contributions for better lives Israel keeps developing. Especially considering that Israel has Palestinians to deal with daily.

White-ruled South Africa had the military technology, nukes and more financial resources than the Israeli Jews. Eventually, the western world turns against oppressive regimes that claim to be part of the western world. The Israeli Jews will not be able to oppress and imprison a population larger than its own for the long-term. That's just a fact.

In one of its first assertions of authority, Hamas called for the immediate release of the BBC Gaza correspondent, Alan Johnston, who was seized in March.
And they did get Alan Johnston from Fatah backed groups and freed him. Hamas did not even get one thank you from the assholes in the West.

In 1980, Israeli Knesset passed the Jerusalem Law, which states that “Jerusalem, complete and united, is the capital of Israel.” However, United Nations Security Council Resolution 478, adopted by 14 votes to none, with an abstention from the US, declared the law "null and void." No foreign country today has an embassy in Jerusalem.
That is because it is illegal to annex occupied territory.

Of course Israel never gave a rat's ass about any law.

Thank you, Hamas... for islamic terrorism that has made your corner of the planet as retrograde as it can be.

Better?

P F Tinmore, et al,

This is absolute nonsense.

•• The issue of the application of Terra Nullius over the territory during the period 31 July 1988 and 15 November 1988.
Terra Nullius does not apply to populated territories.
(COMMENT)

Of course, the example is a depopulated landscape is often characterized as Terra Nullius. But even that is questionable if a Sovereign Power still claims it as its territory. There are a number of territories in Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Iraq that are totally depopulated, yet inside a sovereign claimed boundary. The better example is that of a territory over which any prior sovereign (Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan) has expressly or implicitly relinquished sovereignty.

See: US Legal
Terra Nullius Law and Legal Definition

Jordan never had sovereignty. It is illegal to annex occupied territory.

Why do you think the world did not recognize it?

It is so hard to forgive Hamas for what they have done & are still doing to Palestinians. But then, who was it that elected Hamas to rule them?

Then wouldn't the territory have to have been considered terra nullius from May 1948-November 1988?
