The family of a third-grader in Connecticut has filed a lawsuit against Milford Public Schools, saying their daughter was banned from school for 21 days amid Ebola fears when she returned from a trip to Lagos, Nigeria, for a family wedding.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday, alleges that Ikeoluwa Opayemi was not allowed to return to Meadowside Elementary School in Milford "based on fears" of the deadly Ebola outbreak in the West African countries of Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia.

Reminds one of the Salem witchcraft trials.

"witches" don't exist.
ebola does.

"witches" can't kill you.
ebola can.

but thanks for mentioning "witches"..let's look at how an advanced culture handles them today.

Africa...the land of AIDS and Ebola..they DO know how to handle their "witch" problem there, though...

It reminds me of the early 80s when AIDs was starting.

Kids like Ryan White were barred from going to school. He also sued. He won. Then our congress passed a law that prevented people from barring kids with HIV and AIDs from going to school.

The difference is Ryan White HAD aids. He was barred permanently. This girl is barred for 21 days which is not unreasonable. The father will lose.

And if a child got ebola from her the school would be sued for negligence. They opted for safety instead of accommodating "I have my rights, fuck you".

Does it really take that long, 21 days that is, to find out if its okay for a child return to school due to a matter like this one? Maybe that is why the school is being sued.

God bless you and the girl and her family always!!!
