Niger is Trump's Benghazi...DC aide briefed on Niger calls it "massive intelligence failure"

Senators were shocked to learn the US has 1,000 troops in Africa

but the Pentagon just said the total is actually over 6,000

How can they not know? The expansion of US Forces Africa under President Obama has been a matter of public record for some time now.

The press conference comes after several US senators including Sen. Lindsey Graham, Sen. Chuck Schumer, and Sen. John McCain had all expressed surprise that the US had a large number of troops in Niger and 6,000 across all of Africa.

"I didn't know there was 1,000 troops in Niger," Graham said Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press." "This is an endless war without boundaries and no limitation on time and geography ... You've got to tell us more."

Dunford described the US presence in Niger and other African countries as advisory and meant to help local allies defeat extremist militants, namely Al-Qaeda, ISIS, and the Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram. He said the number of American troops currently in Niger is the largest amount present in any single African country.

Press Release
Washington, D.C. – In a long-awaited victory, the U.S. House of Representatives today by a voice vote passed H.R. 3833/S. 1632, legislation introduced by Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson (D-Florida) and Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) to help combat Boko Haram.

The measure directs the U.S. secretaries of State and Defense to jointly develop a five-year strategy to aid the Nigerian government; members of the Multinational Joint Task Force created to combat Boko Haram; and international partners who’ve offered their support to counter the regional threat posed by the insurgents. The strategy also would address the crushing humanitarian and education crises the terrorists have created.

I attacked Obama for Benghazi and believed he had the ablity to get fire power to help our men. He had 7 hours to do so...

But, this is Trumps Benghazi and there's no fucking excuse for it. Hell, this is worse as he totally dropped the ball with providing support to our troops for not just one compound but for the entire region.

No support? There was a 30 minute battle. The attackers were driven off by French fighters. What more did you want done?

Most importantly, why is Trump responsible?

Was he responsible when two of our ships had collisions at sea?
Not the first time either that the French saved your ass. Merci la France!!!

Correct, but how many times did we return the favor?

Without them I don't thing we would call this place that we live in the US.

Not sure how anyone can blame this on Obama. Trump had 9 months to either pull them out or give them additional support. That would be the current "Commander in Chief's" responsibility, not the former.

Ron Paul said that the US military is occupying all 54 african nations...STOP THIS INSANITY NOW!
