NHS Set For 48-Hour Junior Doctors Strike

I am very biased in favour of the health service.I heard enough stories as a child to make me appreciate what we have.
Good health should not be the preserve of the wealthy.

A better chance at good health will always be greater with the wealthy.

That is what money does.

However, a basic level of services should be available to everyone.

The NHS goes well beyond that and so does not get my support.
You can choose to go private in the UK and many people have insurance.Private healthcare in the UK is totally dependent on the NHS. Like a monkey on its back.

How can private insurance be totally dependent upon the NHS ?

The private insurers run small hospitals that will do specific types of treatment. They are staffed by Nurses and Doctors who have been trained in the NHS. They dont train anybody themselves.
They use the NHS as a back up. If something goes wrong in your private hospital they phone for an ambulance to take you to your local NHS hospital. They dont do emergencies as I guess there is no profit in it.
Finally the major private insurers are all set up as tax dodges in countries like Luxembourg. They do this to avoid paying taxes which support the NHS and other things.
They are happy to cherry pick the treatments and utilise the NHS to the max but strangely reluctant to actually pay taxes to support the system. It is as corrupt a situation as I have ever seen. Tax is just for little people I suppose.

Firms poised to take advantage of NHS shake-up 'avoid tax on their profits'

Oh yes, the minister responsible for running the NHS has written book calling for it to be abolished.
Jeremy Hunt co-authored book calling for NHS to be replaced with private insurance

If the people of England were so against it...why did they vote these clowns into office know what they would do.
This wasnt in the manifesto. Many things werent.

They had no idea ?

I find that hard to believe.
People vote on a raft of issues. The economy was probably the biggest issue and the Labour opposition party was a shambles.

You've never had the experience of having had a politician lie to you? Numerous other posts of yours say otherwise.

So you are saying that the NHS is being scammed.

Not surprizing....all big government programs are worked by at least a few to their advantage.

So it would seem:

Corporate corruption has replaced the rotten borough corruption of Victorian times. Those who have the money have the power.

Stalemate. Its going to be a tough one.The government have just had to ditch a big part of their budget plans due to public pressure. They have lost one minister over it and the Chancellor is wobbly. They cant afford to lose Hunt so they will either find a compromise or see it through to meltdown.
If we were still a sosialist country then everyone else would come out in support.

They have just announced plans to privatise all schools in the country, not in the manifesto and the schools are likely to come out in support of the Doctors. Now is the time to fuck these bastards over.

See the benefits of privatised academy schools here.

You said about three things here.

What do you mean "if we were still a socialist country" ?

Did the doctors win ?
It looks like they did. Detail of the deal is not known yet but the Government blinked.

They are likely to go for the nurses next.

To be honest all activity has been on hold because of the Referendum. Once that is sorted we can get back to constructive politics. Abuse, backbiting ,back stabbing and character assassination.

Socialized medicine is awesome!! We absolutely MUST bring this here to the United States.

Yeah, we never have labor disputes here. Must be a socialized medicine thing.

Brigham, nurses laud agreement that averts strike
Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the union representing 3,300 of its nurses said they reached tentative agreement on a new contract, averting what would have been the largest nurses strike in state history.

The compromise came early Sunday morning after 15 hours of negotiations, ending a long and bitter bargaining process between the Massachusetts Nurses Association and one of the city’s biggest teaching hospitals.

Brigham, which had been canceling appointments and transferring patients to prepare for the threatened strike, said operations would soon return to normal.

Its a bit mad at the moment. The Drs leaders were in favour of the deal and have now stood down as they had to,.

**** is carrying on with the imposition of the contract that has been rejected and it is all a bit of a mess.

The bottom line is that you shouldnt accept a complex deal from people who dont want an NHS in the first place.
