So the NHL and NHLPA have decided to stop the sport again, 8 years after the last work stoppage cancelled the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Considering the 3rd party involved (fans, or customers) has no say in any of this, its up to the two sides to figure it out.
What is needed is some form of pressure from the fans to maybe help the two sides figure something out. The problem is getting the fans organized.
A protest might take the form of this:
We would have to convince a significant portion of season ticket holders to give up thier tickets, and ask for a refund for this upcoming season. This is very difficult as some of these people have had thier tickets for generations.
A second thing would be a pledge like the follwing:
"For every day of the lockout, I pledge to not go to games, not buy merchandise, and not watch the games on television. "
I doubt this would have any effect, but it would at least be something. Professional sports teams pull this crap then expect the fans to come back, no questions asked.
