NH Democratic Party religiously intolerant, bigoted

So let's see. A religiously Christian Republican gives a speech at a religious-sounding meeting and expresses fairly conventional religious language.
And the Dems jump all over him like he's Ayatolloh Khomeini? WTF??

You would see it like that.

The correct way? Yes, I tend to see things the correct way. Combination of good education and genes.
The other way would be how you see it.

He never directly attacked any one faith or lack thereof, even tho Lord knows there's enough ammo to. So NO.
Which god do you think this guy wants us to turn to? Allah? Ra? Yahweh? Zeus?
You realize that #1 and #3 are the same, right?

Religious people understand and respect other religious people, no matter what their religion. Non-religious people have no respect for anyone.

And Rabbi's are all pedophiles. Some things are just commonly known. :cuckoo:

So where do the Dems jump on him like he's the Ayotollah?

"Why does House Republican leadership appear so intent on forcing their Bible Belt social agenda upon the people of New Hampshire?" asked Harrell Kirstein, press secretary for the New Hampshire Democratic Party. "Radical social conservative have filed countless legislative requests for bills that infringe on equality and individual rights."

Before ending his speech, Bates turned to politics. He was "pleased" to tell the crowd that "change" was coming to the New Hampshire legislature. As state Representative, Bates has sponsored legislation that would prevent the state from intervening in cases of child abuse, neglect or even molestation. (CACR-29) In the upcoming session, Bates has requested bills that restrict a woman's right to make her own medical decisions, deny New Hampshire citizens equal rights, and abolish education standards. (gencourt.state.nh.us)

"The proposals Rep. Bates and his extremist allies in the House have proposed are out of touch with New Hampshire values," continued Kirstein. "Granite State citizens want their elected representatives focused on creating jobs, not abandoning children abused and neglect or trampling on individual rights."

They didn't, but Rabbi can't be bothered with actually reading the article or the facts involved. That would just get in the way.

I was thinking the same thing, wasn't he saying these things while addressing a christian congregation in a church? :lol:

So, you'd be cool with this:

Democratic spokeswoman Harrell Kirstien accused Republican State Rep. David Bates of attempting to impose a “Koran belt social agenda” after video surfaced of Bates saying “the only hope for America” is to “turn from our wicked ways and ask Allah to heal our land” and “the problem we have here in this country and in all of our states is that we no longer fear Allah” at New England Solemn Assembly in Plymouth Massachusetts.

Perhaps we have a difference of opinion on what consititutes jumping on someone like he is the Ayotollah!

The head of a pro-family political group in New Hampshire accused the New Hampshire Democratic Party of “religious intolerance” on Thursday for criticizing a Christian state legislator for conducting what it called “a religious tirade” as a Christian gathering in September.

Now Kevin Smith, head of Cornerstone Policy Research, is calling on the Democratic Party to apologize for the attack.

“The NHDP’s mischaracterization of Representative Bates’ faith are not only rooted in religious bigotry, but represents the height of hypocrisy for a party that supposedly prides itself in being tolerant of other’s beliefs,” Smith said. “ The NHDP owes Rep. Bates and the hundreds of thousands of Christians in this state an apology for his truly offensive and ignorant remarks.”

but

aren't the words;

“the only hope for America” is to “turn from our wicked ways and ask god to heal our land” and “the problem we have here in this country and in all of our states is that we no longer fear god”

RELIGIOUS INTOLERANCE against EVERYONE who is either;
atheist, agnostic, hindu, buddhist, zoroastrian, muslim, jewish, MODERATE or LIBERAL christians...etc..?

shouldn't republican State Rep. David Bates APOLOGIZE to all NONfundy christians for such INTOLERANT remarks?

Do you have a problem with people turning from their wicked ways or, a problem with a leader of Christians telling Christians to ask the Lord to "heal our land", or a problem with the statement that 'we' (as a nation) no longer fear G*d (I thought that was what all those other groups wanted, for us "not" to fear G*d)?

That's absurd of course.
But why wouldn't I be OK? Why wouldn't anyone who wasn't an intolerant bigot?

Why is that any more absurd than the original version? Please explain why one is ok and the other is "absurd"?

Depends on what ways he considers "Wicked" If he means murder, rape and general mayham then okay no problem, if he mean being tollerant of Gays and their lifestyle then no he can kiss my rosey red ass. I also don't want elected official relying on supernatural being to fix the problems we have caused or inherited. I want someone who is going to look for down to earth solutions. I'm glad many in this nation no longer fear a make believe creature. But I think this guy see's it a different way than I do.

Good luck getting a rational answer from him. It's simply not possible. He lives in a world where double standards are the norm and making shit up is a way of life.
