This is a interesting development.

NFL owners ripped Trump over anthem saga in secret meeting

NFL team owners privately laid into President Trump for his attacks on players “taking a knee” during an extraordinary summit with league athletes and executives in October, according to a new report.

“The problem we have is, we have a president who will use [the kneeling] as fodder to do his mission that I don’t feel is in the best interests of America,” said New England Patriots owner and longtime Trump supporter Robert Kraft, according to a recording of the meeting obtained by the New York Times.

“It’s divisive and it’s horrible.

A 'president' that mocks the 1st amendment, the free press, and the courts, and talks shit about various businesses in the US because they do something he doesn't like which causes many of them to lose money. Yes he is the problem most of the time. He's anti-American.

Whoa, they'd better be careful or he'll sue them and win ANOTHER three dollars. Like he did when he destroyed the USFL.

Of course, since the NFL already returned over $700k in taxpayer-funded fake-patriotism pimp money to the government that pimped it, I'm thinking they could prolly afford another three dollars.

NFL ratings are down what ... 25%?

Don't know what the percentage is but on TV, yes. Know who else's TV ratings are down at the same time?
  • MLB
  • NBA
  • NHL
  • College football
  • NASCAR
etc etc etc. Guess what Rip van Winkle --- TV's being supplanted as technology. People use different devices now to watch their sports. I'm one of them, been doing it off the TV grid over ten years.

Everyone gets it.
The dumb liberal bigots hate America so they take a knee.
I will boycott this season also if they start taking a knee again.

Clearly attacking a successful United States franchise is an Abuse of Power. Furthermore, he is not upholding his Duty to defend the Constitution, by attacking the very American Citizens it was designed to protect, those who avail themselves of the rights defined in that document he swore to uphold. He is not fit to hold the office, and never was.

Looks like the people are fed up with them and are hurting the NFL which is why they are crying about Trump. Libs can go straight to hell.

Trump hates the NFL. He destroyed a league trying to get into their club, and they turn him down flat. He wants to hurt the NFL.

He hates the West too. He's aligned with Russia because they gave him credit. He want to hurt the West too. Bank on it.

Uh huh.
Shall we take the country back with us? You have somewhere to go?

I hear North Korea is hiring. They like obedient mobs out there.

Businesses must possess long-term vision. There is no asset possessed, by any business that is retained if it is deleterious to growth or long-term outlook. When employees present behavior which upsets customers then businesses usually attempt to stop that behavior. The NFL did not. As a result their market share has suffered. They can blame Trump or the media or anything they want but it is their product which is hurt in the end. This is partially due to their inaction on the issue.

Are NFL critics right? I look at evidence from attendance, rather than pregame and postgame pics.

In 2015, before the controversy, the NFL averaged 68,400 fans per game. In 2016, ESPN data showed that 68,772 fans per game, not counting the San Diego (now Los Angeles Chargers, who moved to a much smaller stadium, making a direct comparison problematic…and the average is 68,939 without San Diego). In 2017, through seven games, it’s 69,177.29 per game without the L.A. Chargers, or 67,806.81, so average attendance is up. Even if you ignore the fact that the Chargers are playing in a much smaller stadium, and don’t want to compare apples to apples, any “boycott” is having a negligible effect (238.29 fans per game, if you don’t control for S.D.)
