The President is a prick. Obama is such a hateful little man. I've grown to not only despise him but to loathe him.
His remarks were totally uncalled for. They were vicious and petty. I'm thrilled that the NFIB issued this statement.

November can't come soon enough.

In a hard-hitting statement to Mail Online, the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) said: 'What a disappointment to hear President Obama's revealing comments challenging the significance of America's entrepreneurs.

'His unfortunate remarks over the weekend show an utter lack of understanding and appreciation for the people who take a huge personal risk and work endless hours to start a business and create jobs.'

" And the spokesman for the NFIB added: 'I'm sure every small-business owner who took a second mortgage on their home, maxed out their credit cards or borrowed money from their own retirement savings to start their business disagrees strongly with President Obama's claim. They know that hard work does matter.

'Every small business is not indebted to the government or some other benefactor. If anything, small businesses are historically an economic and job-creating powerhouse in spite of the government.'

The government didn't, doesn't and never has created roads. It was the taxpayers, much like the small businesses in the critique above, that built the roads. The government only managed the project. Quite haphazardly and costly I might add.

The private sector could have, and would have built transport lines without government.

This goes above and beyond issues of infrastructure maintenance. Obama has been on a wild spending spree and there's no end in sight. His budget doesn't seek to invest in the commerce that keeps this country ticking, but to break the backs of commerce in the name of creating and maintaining a welfare state.

By “you didn’t build that,” Obama clearly means business-people didn’t build “the unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive.”

This is basically just “American exceptionalism” again: take something the president said out of context, and repeat it no matter how often it gets explained and debunked.

The question is: why resort to cheap, lazy tricks like that, instead of making an actual case based on what Obama actually said and done?

The obvious answer is that the Fox/Limbaugh Republican-aligned media don’t care. There’s no incentive for anyone to make a careful argument when lazy lies will be broadcast just as much, and just as efficiently. The result isn’t just mendacity; it’s lazy mendacity, whether it’s pulling a quote out of context or claiming that John Kerry only released two years of tax returns when in fact it was twenty.

Why not claim the president hates small business people, when saying he does will get you (within the Republican Party and media) amply rewarded for it?
