Next Trial up to bat... Clemens... Conclusion?... Perjury is no big deal!

Why is congress involved with this at all?

Baseball is entertainment. It may cost tax payers..but heck..that's what tax payers want..and the cost wasn't all that big.

They totally looked the other way at wall street..which really DID cost this country big.

The media put out some before and after photos showing significant muscle growth on the part of Clemens, but it turned out the photos were seven years apart. With all the photos of Clemens out there, has anybody seen evidence of growth over a short period of time which would indicate the use of illegal substances? We’ve seen it with other athletes, but I have not seen any such evidence with Clemens. Did the steroids or growth hormones not work on him?

You don't Agree?... How did you Feel about Clinton's Perjury?...

:)

peace...
By the legal definition of "sexual relations", Clinton did not lie under oath. But, he certainly made himself look sleazy.

Well he is a Lawyer, you expect anything different?
LOL. Not too much from an attorney, but, yes, I do expect something different from a President.

Technically, since a judge determined that President Clinton's lies-under-oath were not "material" to the proceeding in which he offered the lies, Bubba did not commit "perjury."

That said, he owed it to everybody involved to tell the truth. He chose not to because it would have caused him personal and political embarrassment to have to admit his own improper behavior. And that constitutes no justification at all for lying under oath.

Assuming that the Rocket also lied under oath, even to a bunch of smirking, simpering, self-serving, sanctimonious ass-clowns like Congress-critters, then Clemens should be held accountable.

Lil Kim didn't get away with it. Nobody should.

Why is Congress involved. A good question which no one has yet tackled. My guess, a do nothing congress has to look like it is doing something and can spin such an investigation as a necessary method of protecting the public.

Now that Congress is so worked up about costs, maybe they ought to drop the case against Clemens and Bonds, et al and focus on investigating corruption, fraud and abuse costing the taxpayer billions of dollars. Has the cost to investigate baseball players ever been publicized? Are the costs and benefits greater than if investigators applied their resources to idenity theft, or damage to consumer computers and privacy violaiton by malcious hackers? We may have a spending problem, but we for sure have a problem establishing priorities.

Congressional involvement is predicated (if one chooses to believe such tripe) on the EXCLUSION of MLB from anti-trust laws.

Since Congress granted MLB the exclusion, Congress retained the right to "investigate" such matters of professional sports on the notion that they might wish to return to the question, someday, of whether MLB should retain that anti-trust law exclusion.

Big waste of time..in my book.

 Did you? Really? Me think you expected exactly what we got. Lies.

A President that tells the truth.:lol::lol: That's some funny shit.

Um... He was found in Contempt of Court for Willfully Lying Under Oath...

He was Fined almost a Million Dollahs...

He was Disbarred in ARE-Kansas...

He was Disbarred by the Supreme Burrito.

Sorry, Perjury is Perjury and Billy was Admittedly Guilty.

Nope.

Perjury may be perjury but not all lies under oath ARE perjury.

If the Judge was correct, then Bubba's lie under oath was not perjury.

But he still deserved all the shit that flowed down on him after that stunt he pulled.

It is going to be difficult (not impossible, perhaps, but still pretty tough) for Roger's defense team to "get around" the probable trial testimony from Andy Pettitte.

And unless they do "get around" what Andy has to say, Roger the Rocket might just burn up on re-entry.
