Newt the nut implodes yet again.

Another striking thing about Gingrich's comments was that they came so quickly after he pledged to run a positive primary campaign. After this and his comments about Ryan's plan I honestly think he cannot prevent himself from attacking people even when he knows it's not in his interests.

Romney's record as a private sector businessman is the best I have ever seen. He took a failing Salt lake city olympics and he turned that into one of the most successful olympics ever.

The only reason why he needed to be involved in the SLC Olympics was because his fellow Mormons screwed the pooch and bribed officials of the IOC when they weren't ready to host an Olympics and didn't have the backers. And it's teh Olympics. A bunch of sports no one cares about most of the time.

He took a deep, deep blue state that was 3 billion dollars in dept and turned that into a 2 billion dollar surplus and he did that in a short four years and he did that without raising taxes.

Again, the tax increases were implemented before he came to office, he just reaped the revenues, and admitted as much when he did a powerpoint asking for loans to support his state's debt.

Changing a deficit into a surplus was not a big deal when you had five straight years of GDP growth on the national level.

The fact is, he ranked 48 out of 50 governors in popularity in 2006, which is why he didn't even try to seek a second term.

His experience at Bain capitol is beyond compare a 97% success rate of taking failing companies turning them around into world wide successes.

Again, not true. About one third of the companies Bain leveraged went into bankruptcy. And this was in the 1990's, when you had to be a special kind of retard to screw up a company.

You are a bigot that's all you do is bash Romney because he is Mormon and my guess is, is that you are a liberal bigot because any conservative or Republican who can defend a statement like Newt just made is NO REPUBLICAN AND CERTAINLY NO CONSERVATIVE.

I guess if you define Conservatives as "wanting to slave away so a few rich assholes can ride polo ponies", then yes, no Conservative would make that statement.

Neither would anyone else with a lick of sense.

Romney is just digging himself in deeper. He might as well start lighting cigars with $100.00 bills, just to stick it in people's faces that he's rich. Oh, wait. Mormons don't believe in smoking. Well, I guess this will have to do...

Well, I know that's what you hope for.

I don't see a problem with what Newt said. Romney has pitched himself as a 'turnaround' specialist, but usually his turnarounds involved people losing their jobs while he got richer.

If ROmney can't answer this charge from Newt, do you think he's going to be able to answer it when Obama brings it up in 100 times harsher tones, with the same crying AmPad workers that Ted Kennedy found still applying the waterworks?

Wasn't there some scandal about bribery in the Salt Lake Olympics?

Not that I have ever seen or heard of, if you have please provide the link.

2002 Winter Olympic bid scandal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Legal charges were brought against the leaders of Salt Lake's bid committee by the United States Department of Justice; of which all parties were later acquitted.[1]

Aftermath

Mitt Romney was brought in to head the SLOC.[8] Romney aided in reorganizing the committee and helped to begin fixing the budget, which at the time was US$379 million short, and renewing sponsor enthusiasm.[9]

Romney called for Gingrich, Gingrich called for Romney ...ho hum. Soros can let his media matters staff go home for the (Christmas) holidays because the debates are giving his propaganda machine enough ammunition for a month. You have to laugh at Stephonopolis acting shocked about allegations of adultery regarding Gingrich when he led Clinton's Bimbo eruption squad which was designed to ruin any woman who came forward.

Newt has been on every side of every position since time began. He helped Jimmy Carter in 1979 implement the Federal Department of Education- now he is against it. He sat on a sofa with Nancy Pelosi promoting Global Warming as recently as 2009 and now states he is against it. He was paid by Freddie Mac starting in 1999, worked for them through the back door hooking up Freddie's lobbyists with Republican congressmen in direct contrast to what Bush was attempting to do and that was reign them in. After the collapse of Freddie Mac and our entire economy, he trashed Freddie Mac and their executives and called for their firing, then went after congress as if he had absolutely no involvement with anything.

This latest statement where he goes after Mitt on bankrupting companies and laying off people is a statement a liberal democrat makes not a conservative republican, it is part of the necessary business practice in order to grow a company so they can hire again, it is a socialist statement and taken right out of the playbook of the Democrat party.

Charles Krauthammer nearly fell off his chair when he heard this statement, I wonder what Rush will do with it tomorrow, ignore it and move on or take it on like it should be.

Wow, there's desperation. Going back to 1979 to find a complaint.

Hey, here's the year you should be worried about.

1994

Mitt Romney- "I'll be better on Gay rights than Ted Kennedy" "I'm no Reagan Fan" "I believe in a woman's right to choose".

Newt- Contract with America, first Republican Majority since the 1950's.

Do you believe in free market principles and capitalism?? It is a huge part of the Republican platform. You ho- hum a socialist statement coming from a Republican candidate running for President?? I can't let that go, did you ho-humm Newt throwing Paul Ryan under the bus on the most well thought out budget ever where our entitlements were reformed, is that a ho-humm to you??

Thanks for continually proving you know nothing about business...

Have Newt Gingrich or Barack Obama ever run ANYthing in the real world...? :doubt:

Except Ryan's budget wasn't well thought out, which is why it died about a year ago. His plan was to foist old folks onto the private insurance companies who really didn't want them. They wouldn't make any money insuring grandma who visits her doctor once a week because her kids don't call her to listen to her complaints about her ailments.

I perfectly believe in "free markets", but I think there is a higher responsibility to put the good of people and the country above your own short term greed. Romney doesn't understand this.

Come on, the only reason you are upset with Newt about the Ryan thing is because the "Not Romney" folks have decided that Newt is the "NOt Romney" they are going with.

We don't want Romney. Get it? Never did. Didnt' want him in 2008, don't want him now. Why is this so hard for you to understand? We just don't like the guy.

I thought he was going to follow Reagan's 11th commandment? ;)

With Newt who changes his position every 5 minutes is it any wonder to you? It's not me, anytime he gets into trouble during the debates he just invokes Reagan. For instance.

Newt, what was your involvement with Freddie Mac? I worked for Reagan and he and I created 20 million jobs.

Newt, what is your position on global warming? I worked with Reagan during the 80's and his favorite snack was jelly beans.

Newt, what is your position on the economy?? Your premise is wrong and did I mention that I worked for the Reagan administration.

Newt, how have you changed?? How dare you ask me that question!!! I don't like the premise, and did I mention that I worked for Reagan during the 80's.

You are a liberal so you won't be voting for any republicans anyway and don't think you are fooling anyone, you are not, and for all the other folks who want something more current well here it is in2009.

Good point, Maple Syrup. While your boy Mittens was saying he wasn't a Reagan Republican, Newt was out there fighting the good fight with Reagan.

We remember who was fighting the fight, and who was standing on the sidelines...

Mitt Romney and Ted Kennedy introducing Socialized Medicine to Massachusetts....

Much harsher image, doncha think?

I voted for Every Republican since 1980.

But I won't vote for Mittens. Because he's a scumbag. And a Mormon.
