As always, it comes down to money. Koch's and other Big Money will support the candidate they KNOW they can control. Gingrich is a loose cannon while Romney probably cannot decide what socks to wear without help.
Thus - Romney will be the candidate.
Besides, with his $13MILLION a year "pension" from Bain and his having to tear down that shabby little $12MILLION DOLLAR shack so he can rebuild it 4 times larger, Romney is a true man of the people.
(I wonder how the poor dog is these days.)
