How did the rest of the media miss this? According to the new issue of Newsweek online, President Obama, who this weekend begins his second term--the third president in a row to do so--is "The Second Coming."

The conservative media watch dog, Media Research Center, first noticed the God-like cover.

"Conservatives have long joked that the national press corps see Barack Obama as the second coming of Jesus Christ. Today, Newsweek - at least what's left of it, an online product for tablets and e-readers - made it official," said Center Vice President Brent Baker

"Next to a side shot of Obama's head, the 'Inauguration 2013' cover story pronounces: 'The Second Coming.'"

Why is it that people continually need to explain the most basic of things to you people? The second coming is a reference to his second term and the very next line in the headline is "Can he deliver?" Why are we pissing our pants about this?

How disingenuous can you get? "The Second Coming" title would not have been chosen if it didn't previously have a meaning, and that meaning is religious in nature.

Nobel Laureates Endorse Obama
By KENNETH CHANG

Among Nobel laureates, President Obama appears to have won by a landslide.

Sixty-eight Nobel Prize winners in the science fields, including the two Americans who won this year’s chemistry prize, have signed a letter endorsing Mr. Obama over his Republican rival, Mitt Romney.

“President Obama understands the key role science has played in building a prosperous America,” the laureates wrote in a letter that was released on Wednesday. Mr. Obama “has championed investment in science and technology research that is the engine of our economy.”

The signers said that Mr. Romney, by contrast, “supports a budget that, if implemented, would devastate a long tradition of support for public research and investment in science at a time when this country’s future depends, as never before, on innovation.”

In September, 2008, 61 American winners of a science Nobel — in medicine, physics or chemistry — signed a similar letter endorsing Mr. Obama over Senator John McCain, a number that rose to 76 by the end of October.

How do you feel about Newsweek's article? We already know how you feel about Conservative messengers, but you rarely comment on the message. Do you see his inauguration today and the fanfare tomorrow as a "second coming?
