Newly formed Islamist group gets face smashed in Aleppo

Two Brigades of Kataā€™eb Hezbollah Arrive in Aleppo Amid the Presence of General Suleimani

"On Saturday evening, a large convoy of two full brigades from the Iraqi-led ā€˜Kataā€™eb Hezbollahā€ (Party of God Battalions) and ā€œHarakat Al-Nujabaā€ (Nujaba Movement) arrived to the Syrian Government stronghold of Al-Safeera inside the Aleppo Governorateā€™s southeastern countryside after receiving orders from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corpsā€™ (IRGC) Central Command to travel from northeast Latakia to this province in northern Syria.

According to a military source from the provincial capital of Aleppo, the Kataā€™eb Hezbollah and Harakat Al-Nujaba brigades numbered over 4,000 men and were comprised of many battalions that possessed T-55 tanks and armored vehicles (BMPs); these same Iraqi militiamen would post a video later in the day that showed them traveling through the Syrian Governmentā€™s only supply route to the Aleppo Governorate: Khanasser Highway.

The militiamen from Harakat Al-Nujaba have participated in a number of battles inside the southern countryside of the Syrian capital of Damascus; however, Kataā€™eb Hezbollah is rather new to the Syrian Conflict, as they have been limited to the war due to their obligations in Iraq.

For Kataā€™aeb Hezbollah and Harakat Al-Nujaba, the war in Syria is an imperative battle will have a great affect on Iraq and the countries surrounding them; this is due to the fact that many of these Jihadist organizations inside Syria had once participated in the war against the Iraqi state government.

The Iraqi militiamen are likely to be deployed to the southern Aleppo front, where they will assist the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s 4th Mechanized Division, Hezbollah, and the National Defense Forces in their offensive to cutoff the Aleppo-Damascus International Highway (M-5 Highway).

Last week, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guardā€™s elite ā€œQuds Forceā€ ā€“ Major General Qassim Suleimani ā€“ arrived to the Aleppo Governorate after spending two days inspecting the Iranian soldiers inside Jabal Al-Akrad (Kurdish Mountains) in the Latakia Governorateā€™s northeastern countryside."

Warplanes of US-Led Coalition Attack Power Plant in Aleppo

"In blatant violation of international law, warplanes of the US-led alliance violated Syrian airspace and attacked a power plant that feeds Aleppo city, causing a blackout in the city.

A military source told SANA that warplanes of the Washington alliance violated Syrian airspace and attacked civilian infrastructure in Mareā€™a, Tal Shaā€™er, and al-Bab in Aleppo countryside on Sunday.

The source added that the warplanes attacked the biggest electric power plant that feeds Aleppo city, which resulted in cutting off power from most neighborhoods in Aleppo city.

This transgression comes only 8 days after two F-16 warplanes belonging to the alliance targeted two power plants in al-Radwaniye area east of Aleppo city, cutting off power from the area."

Cheetah Forces Capture 30km of Territory from ISIS in East Aleppo: Kuweires Airport Within Sight

"The Syrian Arab Armyā€™s elite special operations brigade known as the ā€œCheetah Forcesā€ (Tiger Forces branch) ā€“ led by Colonel Shadi Ismaā€™el and Colonel Luā€™ayy Sleitan ā€“ have advanced deep into the heart of the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Shamā€™s (ISIS) stronghold in the Deir Hafer Plains, capturing approximately 30km of territory from the terrorist group in a matter of two weeks.

On Sunday morning, the Cheetah Forces ā€“ in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Kataebat Al-Baā€™ath (Al-Baā€™ath Battalions) ā€“ advanced from the recently captured village of Al-Dakwaneh to the nearby towns of Al-Mufliseh and Tal Sabā€™een, where they were confronted by a large contingent of ISIS fighters that were protecting this territory along the Jabboul Lake in the Deir Hafer plains.

According to a military source from the Tiger Forces stationed inside the Al-Safeera District, the Cheetah Forces have successfully broken-through the terrorist groupā€™s frontlines at the northern axis of Tal Sabā€™een, resulting in the pro-government forces entering the town and taking control of the southwestern farms after intense firefights with ISIS on Sunday.

In addition to their success at Tal Sabā€™een, the Cheetah Forces took the offensive against ISIS at Al-Mufliseh, where they also achieved a successful infiltration into this well-fortified town in the Deir Hafer Plains; however, unlike Tal Sabā€™een, the Syrian Armed Forces are still at the southern axis of Al-Mufliseh.

With approximately 30km of territory taken from ISIS inside the Deir Hafer Plains of the Aleppo Governorateā€™s eastern countryside, the Syrian Armed Forces are less than 4km away from the strategic Thermal Plant along the Aleppo-Raqqa Highway.

The Kuweires Military Airport has been under a brutal siege imposed by ISIS for the last two year; however, with the help from the Russian Air Force, the Syrian Armed Forces are closer than ever to lift this siege and free the soldiers trapped inside."

Breaking: Syrian Army and Hezbollah Capture Al-Sufayrah in Southern Aleppo

"Moments ago, the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s 4th Mechanized Division ā€“ in coordination with Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF), Kataebat Al-Baā€™ath (Al-Baā€™ath Battalions), and Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary) ā€“ took full control of Al-Sufayrah after fierce clashes with the Islamist rebel fighters from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Harakat Nour Al-Deen Al-Zinki, Liwaa Suqour Al-Sham, and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) inside the Aleppo Governorateā€™s southern countryside.

The Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance began their assault at the town of Al-Sufayrah, where they were confronted by several factions of Islamist rebels; this developed into a violent confrontation that resulted in the pro-government forces taking full control of the town after they killed several enemy combatants from Liwaa Suqour Al-Sham and Harakat Nour Al-Deen Al-Zinki.

Following the capture of Al-Sufayrah, the Syrian Armed Forces and the Lebanese Resistance shifted their attention to the small town of Balas, where they were once again confronted by a large contingent of Islamist rebels; however, this battle is still ongoing, despite claims that it was captured.

The Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance have further advanced along this front, leaving only Balas, Al-Shughaydilah and Al-Jumayrah left to capture before they can reach the imperative rebel stronghold of Al-Hadhir, which is located approximately 15km from the Idlib Governorateā€™s northeastern countryside."

Hezbollah and the Syrian Army Seize Several Sites in Southern Aleppo

"The Syrian Arab Armyā€™s elite 4th Mechanized Division ā€“ in coordination with Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF), Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi Paramilitary), and Kataebat Al-Baā€™ath (Al-Baā€™ath Battalions) ā€“ conducted a powerful assault on the Islamist rebel positions inside the Aleppo Governorateā€™s southern countryside, targeting several villages and hilltops near the imperative city of Khan Touman on Friday morning.

Following a successful ground campaign on Thursday, the Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance continued their success in southern Aleppo by tackling the Islamist rebels of Harakat Nour Al-Deen Al-Zinki, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, and Liwaa Suqour Al-Sham at the villages of Al-ā€˜Amariyah and Tal Mohadiyah; this powerful assault resulted in the capture of the aforementioned villages and the death of over 20 enemy combatants.

The Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance did not stop there: the successful capture of Al-ā€˜Amariyah and Tal Mohadiyah paved the way for the Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance to recapture the villages of Al-Huwayz and Al-Qarassi, along with the town of Khalsa after intense firefights with the Islamist rebels.

In addition to their success at the aforementioned sites, the Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance continued their advance inside the town of Kafr ā€˜Abid, killing over 15 enemy combatants on Friday, while also destroying a machine gun nest."

Cheetah Forces Push Further into East Aleppo: Two Large Villages Captured

"On Friday morning, the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s ā€œCheetah Forcesā€ (Tiger Forces branch) ā€“ in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Kataebat Al-Baā€™ath (Al-Baā€™ath Battalions) ā€“ continued their wide-scale offensive inside the Deir Hafer Plains of east Aleppo, capturing two imperative villages from the possession of the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) after a series of intense firefights.

The Cheetah Forces began their assault at Jabboul after conceding this lake area to ISIS 10 days ago; however, this morning, the attack proved successful for the pro-government forces, as they took complete control of this strategic city located at the northern tip of Jabboul Lake in the southern countryside of the Deir Hafer Plains.

Following the capture of Jabboul City, the Cheetah Forces and their allies shifted their attention to the town of Judaydeh, where they were currently engagement in a fierce battle with ISIS for control of this large area located 8km southwest of the Kuweires Military Airport; however, once again, the Syrian Armed Forces were successful in this military endeavor, as they imposed full control over Judaydeh.

With Judaydeh and Jabboul City under their control, the Syrian Armed Forces now captured over 40km of territory from the terrorist group in the Deir Hafer Plain of east Aleppo, while ISIS continued to retreat towards the Al-Raqqa Governorate.

Despite the capture of Jabboul City and Judaydeh, the Syrian Armed Forces still remain 4km away from the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s frontlines at the Kuweires Military Airport ā€“ the aforementioned airbase has been under a brutal two year long siege imposed by ISIS."

Syrian Army Attempts to Break the ISIS Offensive to Cutoff Their Main Supply Route to Aleppo

"The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) are under a serious attack along the Khanasser-Aleppo Highway, as the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) continue their largest offensive on the Hama Governorateā€™s eastern countryside since their advance from the Tabaqa Military Airport last year.

On Sunday morning, ISIS conducted their most intense assault on the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s defenses at the strategic city of Ithriyah, where they attempted to close the imperative Ithriyah-Salamiyah Road that the pro-government forces reopened the day before; this attack was later repelled by the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s 66th Brigade of the 10th Tank Division.

Despite premature claims of ISISā€™ capture of Ithriyah, the city still remains under the control of the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces, as they attempt to clear the Khanasser-Aleppo Highway of the significant number of fighters from the terrorist group.

Yesterday, ISIS was able to obstruct the Khanasser-Aleppo Highway and the Ithriyah-Salamiyah Road; however, reinforcements from the predominately Palestinian pro-government militia ā€œLiwaa Al-Qudsā€ (Jerusalem Brigades) arrived just in time to recapture the aforementioned road and assist the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces recapture several checkpoints along the Khanasser-Aleppo Highway.

The Khanasser-Aleppo Highway is the Syrian Governmentā€™s only supply route to the Aleppo Governorate; without, they would be required to rely on other methods to bring necessary provisions to this densely populated area of northern Syria."

ISIS Launches Wide-Scale Offensive in East Aleppo

"On Saturday afternoon, the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) launched a large-scale offensive inside the Aleppo Governorateā€™s eastern countryside in order to counteract the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s (SAA) march towards the Kuweires Military Airport in the Deir Hafer Plains.

ISIS began their offensive by targeting the imperative hilltop at Tal Reeman and the small village of Al-Salihiyah; this assault resulted in the National Defense Forces (NDF) withdrawal from the aforementioned sites to the large town of Al-ā€˜Aziziyah inside the Al-Safeera District of east Aleppo.

Not long after ISIS took complete control of Tal Reeman and Al-Salihiyah, the terrorist group attempted two massive attacks on the towns of Al-ā€˜Aziziyah and Tal ā€˜Arn to the north of Al-Safeera; however, they ran into the fierce defenses of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) at these towns before they could achieve any progress.

Following a long battle at Tal ā€˜Arn and Al-ā€˜Aziziyah, ISIS was forced to withdraw to Tal Reeman after sustaining significant casualties and the destruction of their heavy weaponry during their failed infiltration attempt at the aforementioned towns.

During ISISā€™ retreat to Tal Reeman, the Russian Air Force reappeared in east Aleppo to punish the terrorist group with repeated airstrikes over their positions; this lasted for nearly six hours on Saturday night before the Russian Air Force returned to the Hmamiyat Airfields in southwest Latakia.

The terrorist groupā€™s recent offensive in the Aleppo Governorateā€™s eastern countryside appears to be an attempt to alleviate the pressure on their forces in the Deir Hafer Plains."

Battle for East Aleppo Intensifies as ISIS and the Syrian Army Fight for Kuweires Airbase

"The battle for east Aleppo has recently intensified between the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS), as both opposing parties attempt to gain the upper-hand at this volatile front in northern Syria that was once a stalemate two months ago.

On Sunday morning, ISIS continued their large-scale assault on the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s defenses at the strategic cities of Al-ā€˜Aziziyah and Tal ā€˜Arn located inside the Aleppo Governorateā€™s eastern countryside, while the SAAā€™s ā€œCheetah Forcesā€ (Tiger Forces branch) attempted to advance closer to the besieges Kuweries Military Airport in the Deir Hafer Plains.

For ISIS, their assault on the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s defenses at Al-ā€˜Aziziyah and Tal ā€˜Arn ended badly for them when the Russian Air Forceā€™s SU-25 fighter jets pounded their positions at Tal Reeman and Al-Salihiyah, forcing the terrorist group to have to avoid the main road leading to the aforementioned villages in east Aleppo.

Meanwhile, northeast of Al-ā€˜Aziziyah, the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s Cheetah Forces ā€“ in coordination with the National Defense Forces from Aleppo City and Kataebat Al-Baā€™ath (Al-Baā€™ath Battalions) ā€“ carried out another assault on ISISā€™ frontline defenses at Sheikh Ahmad, where they attempted to capture this village located 2km away from the Kuweires Military Airport.

ISIS was able to recapture the town of Al-Halabiyah during a brief counter-assault near the imperative Thermal Plant; this has forced the Syrian Armed Forces to concentrate their efforts on lifting the siege of the Kuweires Military Airport and less on capturing the Thermal Plant.

The Syrian Arab Army is racing against the clock to lift the siege on the Kuweries Military Airport, as ISIS attempts to cut their supply route from the Al-Safeera District."

Syrian Army Attempts to Reopen Strategic Highway Cutoff by ISIS

"On Monday morning, the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) attempted to advance their positions inside the Hama Governorateā€™s eastern countryside after a successful series of attacks over the weekend that put them in position to disrupt the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s main supply route to provincial capital of the Aleppo Governorate.

The terrorist group attacked several checkpoints belonging to the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces (NDF) along the road to the town of Sheikh Hilal in an attempt to broaden their control over the Salamiyah-Raqqa Road that runs through the imperative town of Ithriyah; if successful, ISIS would block the supply road the Syrian Armed Forces use to reach the Khanasser-Aleppo Highway.

Luckily for the Syrian Armed Forces, they were able to repel the terrorist attack on the road to Sheikh Hilal, despite the ferocity of ISISā€™ assault on their positions; this included multiple suicide attacks using BMP armored vehicles.

Following ISISā€™ failed infiltration attempt into Sheikh Hilal, the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s 66th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division ā€“ in coordination with the National Defense Forces from Al-Salamiyah and the Palestinian pro-government militia ā€œLiwaa Al-Qudsā€ (Jerusalem Brigades) ā€“ launched a counter-assault around 6:30 P.M. (Damascus Time) to recover their lost points along the Salamiyah-Raqqa Highway and the Khanasser-Aleppo Highway.

The Syrian Armed Forces have started their large-scale counter-assault in east Hama; however, there have been no reported gains yet (other than the recapture of the Ithriyah-Sabourah Road), as they target the Al-Bashiri Farms, Ithriyah Checkpoint, and the Majabel Checkpoint near the town of Ithriyah."

Cheetah Forces Inch Closer to the Kuweries Military Airport in East Aleppo

"The Syrian Arab Armyā€™s ā€œCheetah Forcesā€ (a branch of the Tiger Forces) is closer than ever to lifting the two year long siege imposed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) at the Kuweires Military Airport; however, it has been arduous journey for them and their allies, as they have encountered several obstacles along the way that have made their march to the airbase very difficult.

Despite have the superior airpower and weapons; it seems the closer the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s Cheetah Forces get to the Kuweires Military Airport, the fiercer the resistance from ISIS gets inside the several villages surrounding the base.

On Monday morning, the battle for the strategic town of Sheikh Ahmad reached its critical stages, as the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s Cheetah Forces ā€“ in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Kataebat Al-Baā€™ath (Al-Baā€™ath Battalions) ā€“ pushed past the terrorist groupā€™s defenses at the southern district, causing panic among ISISā€™ ranks.

With the town of Sheikh Ahmad on the line, ISIS decided to concentrate their forces attacking the Kuweries Military Airport to the aforementioned town in order to safeguard their buffer-zone and help drive back the soldiers from the Syrian Armed Forces that were attempting to bypass their last line of defense.

If the Syrian Armed Forces capture Sheikh Ahmad from ISISā€™ possession in east Aleppo, they will be less than 2km away from Kuweires Military Airportā€™s frontlines that are located just north of the Aleppo-Raqqa Highway."

Islamist Rebels Suffer Heavy Casualties in Northern Aleppo as the Syrian Army Pushes North

"On Tuesday morning, the Russian Air Forceā€™s fighter jets reappeared in the Aleppo Governorate after a brief 24 hour hiatus due to the rough weather conditions that caused low visibility and dangerous flight conditions for their military personnel operating in northern Syria.

Anxious to make-up for lost time, the Russian Air Forceā€™s SU-24 and SU-25 fighter jets concentrated their efforts on Jabhat Al-Shamiyah (Levantine Front) and Harakat Ahrar Al-Shamā€™s (largest Islamist rebel group) positions in the northern Aleppo countryside after intelligence reports confirmed a large movement of Islamist rebels along the imperative Haraytan Highway.

Several field reports from northern Aleppo confirmed that the Russian Air Force struck the large rebel strongholds of Haraytan, ā€˜Anadan, Kafr Hamra, and Hayyan along the Haraytan Highway, killing scores of Islamists in the aforementioned cities as the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continues to push into the Al-Layramoun Quarter inside the provincial capital.

According to social media activists from the Syrian Opposition, 7 members of Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham were reportedly killed by one Russian airstrike in the city of ā€˜Anadan, while several others were killed in the aerial bombardments that followed in the northern Aleppo countryside.

Meanwhile, to the south of the Haraytan Highway, the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces (NDF) pushed their way into the Al-Layramoun Industrial District after weeks of fighting the Islamist rebels along the Layramoun-Khalidiyah axis.

The Syrian Armed Forcesā€™ assault on the Industrial District is an attempt to alleviate the pressure applied by the Islamist rebels on the Al-Zahra Association Quarter, which is located directly south of the Al-Layramoun Quarter."

Cheetah Forces Press Forward to Kuweires Airport While ISIS Attempts to Redirect the Assault

"On Tuesday morning, the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s ā€œCheetah Forcesā€ (branch of the Tiger Forces) ā€“ in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City and Kataebat Al-Baā€™ath (Al-Baā€™ath Battalions) ā€“ continued their large-scale offensive inside the Deir Hafer Plains of east Aleppo, striking the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) at the integral town of Sheikh Ahmad near the Kuweires Military Airport.

The Cheetah Forces and their allies began the morning by launching several mortar shells into the ISIS-held part of Sheikh Ahmad; this was followed by a powerful ground assault that was coordinated by the Tiger Forces commander ā€“ Colonel Suheil Al-Hassan ā€“ and his counterpart from the Cheetah Forces ā€“ Colonel Shady Ismaā€™eel.

Following a morning filled with ISIS conducted their own assault inside the Deir Hafer Plains of east Aleppo; however, this attack was conducted far away from the Kuweires Military Airport, as the terrorist group decided to target the recently captured city of Jabboul, which is located about 12km south of the aforementioned military airport.

Despite claims of its capture, ISIS was unable to take control of Jabboul after intense firefights with the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s Tiger Forces; instead, they were forced to retreat to the east in order to evade the swarming Russian fighter jets bombarding their positions.

The Syrian Arab Armyā€™s lack of progress along the east Aleppo front has been due in large part to the absence of the Russian Air Force ā€“ Tuesday was the first time in several hours that the Russian Air Force was bombarding ISISā€™ positions along the Kuweries Military front.

The Cheetah Forces are still 4km away from lifting the two year long siege of the Kuweires Military, but they remain in the offensive position despite the recent offensives from ISIS in east Aleppo."

Iranian and Iraqi Fighters Prepare for Long-Awaited Offensive in Northern Syria

"The recent casualties from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have came as no surprise to their Central Command, as many more are expected in the coming weeks after several soldiers made the arduous journey from their unofficial base in Jabal Al-Akrad (mountain range in northeastern Latakia) to the volatile Khanasser-Aleppo Highway.

For five months, the soldiers from the IRGC have sat idly in the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s Special Forces base in Slunfeh, Latakia, while they awaited orders from their Central Command to carry out operations in northern Syria; however, as of recently, the large mobilization of Iraqi paramilitary from Harakat Al-Nujaba, Kataeb Hezbollah, and Liwaa Abu Fadl Al-ā€˜Abbas has made this military compound rather crowded.

With the Russian Federationā€™s military escalation boosting the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s offensive activity, the need for boots on the ground has become a great need for the Syrian Armed Forcesā€™ Central Command ā€“ enter Iraqi and Iranian fighters.

Earlier this month, a large convoy of Iraqi, Afghani, and Pakistani paramilitary arrived to the heavily fortified city of Al-Safira in southeast Aleppo, they were later joined by several waves of Iraqi paramilitary convoys (recently Liwaa Abu Fadl Al-ā€˜Abbas); these fighters were under the direct command of Major General Qassem Suleimani (commander of the elite ā€œQuds Forceā€) and his council of military officers.

The last wave of reinforcements to enter the Aleppo Governorate before the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) cutoff the Khanasser-Ithriya Highway were IRGC soldiers ā€“ they were preceded by hundreds of others from the same unit.

According to a senior officer from the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s 4th Mechanized Division, the coalition of Iranian, Iraqi, Hezbollah, Afghani, and Pakistani fighters are preparing for a large-scale offensive, but the date and location of this assault has been kept quiet among the military personnel.

Due to the fear of possible intelligence leaks, the offensiveā€™s contingency has been kept from most military personnel, including high ranking officers inside the Syrian Arab Army.

The IRGC soldiers are likely to take the advisor role for this offensive, as most of the military personnel are officers and do not number large enough to carry out their own assault."

ISIS Recaptures Jabboul City in East Aleppo

"One week after losing Jabboul to the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s ā€œCheetah Forcesā€, the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) have imposed full control over the city and its surrounding hills, resulting in an advance to the nearby village of Al-Nasariyah inside the Deir Hafer Plains of east Aleppo.

With the capture of Jabboul, the terrorist group will attempt to recapture Al-Nasariyah, which is a village located directly east of the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s starting point at Tal Naā€™am for the Kuweires Military Airport offensive.

While Jabboul City is under ISISā€™ control, the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s Cheetah Forces ā€“ in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City and Kataebat Al-Baā€™ath (Al-Baā€™ath Battalions) ā€“ have launched another assault on the town of Sheikh Ahmad, where they were confronted by a large force from the terrorist group this Monday.

The loss of Jabboul City is not going to the Syrian Arab Army from attempting to lift the two year long siege of the Kuweires Military Airport; however, it could endanger their imperative supply route if Tal Naā€™am is captured.

Currently, ISIS is bombarding the town of Al-Nasariyah with a barrage of mortar shells and rockets, but they have yet to infiltrate past the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s defensive positions at the southeastern perimeter of the village."

ISIS Suffers Devastating Defeat at Al-Safira: 50+ Killed in East Aleppo

"The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Shamā€™s (ISIS) large-scale offensive at the Syrian Government stronghold of Al-Safira began with much promise and ended in complete disaster, as the soldiers from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) defeated the terrorist groupā€™s encroaching combatants before nightfall yesterday.

According to field reports from the journalist, Kinana ā€˜Alloush, the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces beat back the large terrorist offensive at the city of Al-Safira after several soldiers from the National Defense Forces were transferred from the southern Aleppo front in order to help repel the terrorist groupā€™s large attack on their defenses.

With ISISā€™ retreat from the northern sector of Al-Safira, the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces were able to recover their lost territory and secure the town of Al-Aziziyah by forcing the terrorist group to withdraw to the strategic hilltop of Tal Reeman; this aforementioned hill provides ISIS cover from the Russian airstrikes.

According to a military source from the Syrian Arab Army inside the provincial capital of Aleppo, the Syrian Armed Forces killed over 50 enemy combatants from ISIS, including several foreigners from Tunisia, Libya, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

The following photos are from the aftermath of ISISā€™ failed assault on Al-Safira (photos courtesy of Kinana Alloush):

Syrian Army Attempts to Reverse ISISā€™ Gains Along the Highway to Aleppo

"On Wednesday morning, the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s 66th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division ā€“ in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Al-Salamiyah and the Palestinian pro-government militia ā€œLiwaa Al-Qudsā€ ā€“ launched another counter-assault to recapture the territory lost to the Islamic State or Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) over the weekend.

Unfortunately for the Syrian Armed Forces, this was not an easy task on Wednesday, as they found themselves delivering a powerful blow to the ISIS terrorists in the area, only to have their progression slowed down by the several IEDs (improvised explosive device) planted along the many roads that feed into the strategic Khanasser-Ithriya Highway of east Hama.

The biggest achievement made by the Syrian Arab Army and their allies on Wednesday was the successful recapture of the Ithriya-Salamiyah Road that was obstructed by the terrorist group for several hours before the pro-government forces were able to reclaim the points lost to ISIS.

In addition to their success along the Ithriyah-Salamiyah Road, the Syrian Armed Forces were able to recapture the points lost to the ISIS combatants on the roads leading to towns of Al-Saā€™an, and Sheikh Hilal; this gave the pro-government forces breathing room as they prepared for the massive assault on the Khanasser-Ithriya Highway.

The Syrian Armed Forces began their assault on ISISā€™ positions along the Khanasser-Ithriya Highway after the Russian Air Force conducted several airstrikes in order to weaken the terrorist groupā€™s defenses.

While the assault has begun to recapture the Khanasser-Ithriyah Highway, the Syrian Armed Forces have yet to recapture the main axes control by ISIS; this is expected to be the focus of Thursday battle in east Hama."

Cheetah Forces Advance in East Aleppo: 3km to the Kuweires Military Airport

"On Wednesday morning, the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s ā€œCheetah Forcesā€ (branch of the Tiger Forces) ā€“ alongside the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City and Kataebat Al-Baā€™ath (Al-Baā€™ath Battalions) ā€“ continued their large-scale offensive to lift the siege of the Kuweires Military Airport inside the Deir Hafer Plains; however, things did not start-off too well for the pro-government forces, as the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) imposed full control over Jabboul City.

Following this setback, the Cheetah Forces and their allies regrouped at the nearby town of Al-Nasariyah, where they found themselves under attack by the same ISIS terrorists; but, this time, they were able to repel the encroaching enemy combatants after they failed to infiltrate into the southern perimeter of the town.

Northeast of Al-Nasariyah is where much of the fighting took place on Wednesday, as the Cheetah Forces ā€“ led by their commander, Colonel Shady Ismaā€™eel ā€“ attacked ISISā€™ frontline defenses inside the strategic town of Sheikh Ahmad; this assault resulted in the destruction of an ISIS weapons supply depot and the Syrian Armyā€™s progression to the dirt mounds near the town-center.

According to a field report from the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army and the National Defense Forces are approximately 3km away from the Kuweires Military Airportā€™s frontlines after their advance in the southern sector of Sheikh Ahmad today.

If the Syrian Armed Forces capture Sheikh Ahmad, they will be within striking distance of the Kuweires Military Airport, as the aforementioned town is situated approximately 2km from the soldiers trapped at the base."

Breaking: Syrian Army and Hezbollah Advance to Khan Touman in Southern Aleppo

"Moments ago, the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s 4th Mechanized Division ā€“ in coordination with Hezbollah, Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary), the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City, and Kataebat Al-Baā€™ath (Al-Baā€™ath Battalions) ā€“ carried out a successful mission to capture the farms located between the strategic towns of Khan Touman and Qarass in southern Aleppo.

According to a field report from southern Aleppo this morning, the Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance surprised the Islamist rebels from Harakat Noureddine Al-Zinki, Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Liwaa Suqour Al-Sham, and the Syrian Al-Qaeda group ā€œJabhat Al-Nusraā€ with an assault at several locations after taking a brief hiatus from this offensive in order to repel the encroaching Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) fighters at Al-Safira and Ithriya.

With these farms under control, the Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance have the ability to attack Khan Touman from two different flanks (east and north); previously, they only had access to the northern perimeter of the aforementioned town, which did bode well for an offensive attack due to the strategic advantages the enemy had around this rugged terrain.

Should the Syrian Armed Forces and Lebanese Resistance choose to attack Khan Touman, the assault would come from the eastern flank, where the enemy is not well-positioned.

The purpose of the Khan Touman offensive is to cutoff the Aleppo-Damascus International Highway that is used by the Islamist rebels in Idlib to transport supplies to their comrades in southern Aleppo."

Syrian Army and Hezbollah Enter Strategic City in Southern Aleppo

"On Friday morning, the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s elite 4th Mechanized Division ā€“ in coordination with Hezbollah, the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Aleppo City, Kataebat Al-Baā€™ath (Al-Baā€™ath Battalions), Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi Paramilitary), Kataeb Hezbollah (Iraqi Paramilitary), and Firqa Fatayyemoun (Iranian-Afghani Paramilitary) ā€“ launched a surprise assault on the farms adjacent to Khan Touman in southern Aleppo, resulting in the capture of this site after a series of intense firefights with the Islamist rebels.

Following the capture of the farms located between Khan Touman and Qarassi, the Syrian Armed Forces, Lebanese Resistance, and the Iraqi Paramilitary units turned their attention to the strategic city of Khan Touman, where they would immediately start an assault on the Islamist rebel defenses at the northern and eastern flanks.

While initial reports stated the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies were in full control of Khan Touman, a military source from the Syrian Arab Armyā€™s 4th Division confirmed that the city was not captured; however, he added that the SAA and their allies have entered Khan Touman and imposed control over 50 percent of the area, leaving on the Army Storage Facility left under enemy control.

The Syrian Armed Forces and their allies have restarted their offensive in southern Aleppo after a brief hiatus in order to combat the encroaching terrorists from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) at Al-Safira in southeast Aleppo.

Should the Syrian Armed Forces take full control of Khan Touman, they will be in position to cutoff the imperative Aleppo-Damascus International Highway that is used by the Islamist rebels from the Syrian Al-Qaeda group ā€œJabhat Al-Nusraā€ and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham to resupply their comrades in southern Aleppo."
