Amazon didn't demand anything. However, not living up to the agreements made with Amazon is not socialism, true. It's simply stupid.

I find it amusing that there are some trying to equate a state's attempt to entice economic growth into their state as some kind of socialism when in fact, it is an open and capitalistic thing to do. NY was in competition with other states, and open competition is the definition of capitalism.

Every state put a bid in, and the runners up happened to be NYC. However, if I have something for sale and I have a minimum asking price, then I won't sell below that price, period.

This holds true regardless of the size of the transaction.

There is nothing more capitalistic than States bidding to bring economic growth to their State. AOC and the socialist are simply wrong on this, as they are on everything.

With most of them thinking it is owed and have no appreciation of who is paying for it in every way possible. We can go down in most of things we do and find we support much of the things we do for others. And it is not enough. Should McDonalds still have a burger, fries and a drink for less then a dollar like decades ago? Fast food is like a barometer as they struggle mightily to keep a cheaper price menu as part of what has become now a premium menu. Thousands of taxes hidden we even do not know about.

Not really. It's government exercising power over business. States use they're ability to manipulate the tax code, to give out special favors to business who "play ball", to coerce business into relocating there. It's antithetical to free markets and an egregious violation of equal protection.
