New York Times: ACORN - Tuning In Too Late

Rangle is gay, gay people get a pass as long as they are not Cheney's daughter. You think openly gay Wolf Blitzer would run stories on openly gay Democrat Rangle, not a chance. Hell Democrat Rangles lover was the head of Fannie Mae which started this mess and Rangle was the Senator in charge of Fannie Mae.

Sounds like there is something deep in your closet dude. Seriously. Not that there is anything wrong with that lifestyle.

Dude, no matter what is in my closet does not change the fact that Rangle is an openly gay democrat, you got google and I know you used it and found out for yourself, so you want to attack me in order to hide an openly gay democrat senator.

What is relevant is that the openly gay democrat senator gets a pass because he is gay, that dont disturb you, of course not, hes democratic and as long as he carries the vote it dont matter, in this case Rangle carried more than the vote, who was in charge of the banking institutions which went bankrupt causing the financial crisis. Just so happened it was a man in charge of these financial institutions and that man was the lover of Democrat senator Rangle.

So you can fixate on me all you want, I will even send that pic you requested, oops, that was a PM

I pm'd a request to you for your gay pics? I need to check that one, but i think you have me confused with guy you met last week perhaps?

ACORN's biggest sin was that they went around registering 2 million young, black and hispanic voters who do not vote republican. They have been on the republican hit list for five years. Karl Rove was particularly threatend by ACORN and ordered US attorneys to investigate and prosecute. When no evidence was found to prosecute, those attorneys were fired.

Prior to the election, ACORN members registering voters actually came up with names like Mickey Mouse, Paul Newman, Clark Kent...... But ACORN is not legally allowed to throw out completed voter registrations. That is conducted by the county registrars. Anyone who ever had a substitute teacher knows that when Mickey Mouse or Clark Kent signs the class attendence sheet, it does not mean that Clark Kent was actually in class that day.

So now we go to the big sting.......actors dressed up like pimps and hookers get $6.25 an hour employees to break the law. Major coup for the republicans. They are able to bring down ACORN and stop the voter registration of those they consider unsuitable voters.

Acorn has repeatedly been busted for corruption, this is not the first time. For years the dems have sneered at any hint that it is a corrupt organization, insisting that they be given a pass, and that the multiple, widespread criminal behavior exhibited was just the result of a few bad apples.

Bullshit. That organization was rotten to the core from the beginning, and it's Obama's playground.

Ummmm...this post is troubling on so many issues, its hard to know where to begin.

But lets start with your open hatred of gays first. You somehow maintain the 1950s mentality that being gay somehow precludes you from holding public office. You also seem to think that calling someone gay has some shock value in 2009 and that people will recoil in horror. Your recent choices of Wolf Blitzer and Charlie Rangel are laughable.

Lets get to "openly gay" Charlie Rangel. Rangel is a Purple Heart and Bronze Star winner for valor under fire in the Korean War. If he was gay, he sure saved alot of lives.
He has also been happily married for 45 years and has several children and grandchildren.
To further show the idiocy of your hate speech you identify Rangel as an "Openly gay senator".....Rangel never served in the Senate, he was not in charge of the banking institutions

I believe your anti-gay hate rant is targeted at Barney Frank and you obviously have no idea what you are talking about

That's it.

Dems, like GoPers, LOVE to hammer coruption but ONLY if they can nail it to the other party.

ACORN was always a political target. republicans hated them because they registered young, black and hispanic voters.

Now we know that Karl Rove spearheaded the firing of David Iglesias, the U.S. Attorney in New Mexico who refused to follow the Bush White House's orders to intimidate low-income voters by making false charges of "voter fraud." What the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal and other major papers missed in their stories last week was that Rove was specifically targeting ACORN, the community organizing group that has waged some of the most effective voter registration drives in recent memory.

Rove viewed ACORN as a threat to the GOP because of its success in registering low-income voters and turning them out to vote on election day. I describe Rove's campaign against ACORN -- not only in New Mexico, but also in other "swing" states where more low-income voters could hurt GOP candidates -- in my forthcoming book Seeds of Hope, a history of ACORN, published by Vanderbilt University Press.

White House political affairs director Patrick Gaspard, the same title Karl Rove held in President Bush's White House, was long time ACORN operative. Before he joined the Obama administration, Gaspard was ACORN boss Bertha Lewis's political director in New York.

Obama's statement that he's barely aware of ACORN's problems is nothing short of ridiculous, especially so because Patrick Gaspard was a political director for ACORN New York.

Also, here is the link to the Social Policy magazine from the Winter 2003 that is making it very clear that Barack Obama’s ties to ACORN are extensive.

I haven't seen anything on the right that is the equivalent to acorn, have you?

No, they hated them because they did so while pushing them to be Democrats, which is why there is so much corruption.

If they had been honest brokers they would not have been a target, they chose to make ACORN a front group for drumming up Democratic support.

No, Republicans hate them because they're a criminal organization, and shitbags like yourself will defend them to your dying day.

The campaign against them would have fallen on barren ground if the allegations weren't FOUNDED and easily proven.

Ideologicly driven editorial authority of the New York Times ignored Acorn's corruption for way to long. How believable is that they were unaware of this story until after Senate vote? It's even easier to believe in Obama words that tax is not a tax, then in NYT excuse...

ON Sept. 12, an Associated Press article inside The Times reported that the Census Bureau had severed its ties to Acorn, the community organizing group. Robert Groves, the census director, was quoted as saying that Acorn, one of thousands of unpaid organizations promoting the 2010 census, had become “a distraction.”

Tuning In Too Late

Interesting all this is really exploding around us, and folks like Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Ingrham, Levin, and others were raising the red flag long before Obama was elected?

They really act surprised, don't they? I don't buy it. they KNEW.

The GOP War Against ACORN

Link Excerpt:
In recent days, the Washington Whore Post, the New York Whore Times and other major news outlets have recounted the "troubled" history of the poor people’s advocacy group ACORN, but left out the five-year anti-ACORN campaign led by Karl Rove and other Republican weasels. Dropped down the memory hole is the fact that ACORN was at the center of the so-called "prosecutor-gate" scandal, when the Bush bastards ilegally pressured U.S. Attorneys to bring indictments over ACORN voter drives and then fired some prosecutors who resisted what they viewed as a partisan strategy not supported by solid evidence... On "Face The Whore," Obama downplayed the seriousness of an investigation authorized last month by AG Eric Holder into several cases where CIA officers allegedly exceeded Justice Department guidelines during the interrogations. "I want to look forward and not backward when it comes to Bush's crimes,” Obama said. "My understanding is it’s not even a criminal investigation at this point."

Republicans – aided by the giant megaphone of the right-wing media – continue to keep Democrats on the defensive, while evidence of Republican guilt gets little sustained attention except at a handful of Internet sites.

And the ROOTS are deep. ACORN isn't the ONLY one out there. There's a plethora of these groups out there that get the same kind of support and money from the Statists...

I found the editorial somewhat self serving.

The NYT is behind the curve and the bias is thick, they say they broke stories they hurt democrats...but did they?

The Rangle & Spitzer stories haven't hurt Democrats at all, I bet most people here don't know that Rangle is under investigation and nobody cared Spitzer resigned, another democrat simply took over his job.

Both of those were also NY stories, not national news.

ACORN is a national story, as was the van Jones matter, and they continue to be tone deaf about the real problem, they refuse to dig deep into the current corruption of a government they supported and helped elect through rediculous partisan support.

In short, they have marginalized themselves.

Well, that would be accurate, except that Spitzer was a rising star in the Democratic party, and could have possibly been the first Jewish President. The story destroyed his career, utterly.

Now Patterson is basically a "Lame-Duck" governor, and gets walked all over by everyone in the NY Government.

As far as ACORN is concerned, perhaps they did ignore the matter, but I guess they figured it was OK, as FoxNews had more than picked up the slack with their "All ACORN, All the time" coverage.

And as far as Van Jones went, that wasn't even a story. The man was forced to resign due to his political beliefs. Admittedly, Communism is a radical belief, but not something to disqualify someone from living a normal life and performing well in their job.

And the ROOTS are deep. ACORN isn't the ONLY one out there. There's a plethora of these groups out there that get the same kind of support and money from the Statists...

What exactly does a few episodes with stupid assed office employees covering for prostitutes have to do with voter registration?

Funny thing about Acorn is they turned in the individuals that registered cartoon characters. They did it. Not the government. Wonder why the media doessn't report that? Also, I never heard of anyone actually voting whose name was Mickey Mouse.

Acorn also fired those crazy people.

Terrible organization. They register people to vote. Help poor people with their taxes. Help people find jobs. What a bunch of creeps. Who need 'em?

They are a front group to promote a socialist agenda, you know, steal the car company's and eat $100.00 a pound steak while convincing the poor they are doing it all for them.
They want to spread the wealth that they're to damn lazy to work for.:cuckoo:

Actually, redistribution of wealth in this manner would be more in line with Communism, not Socialism.

Socialism is simply government takeover of private enterprise. Communism is equal re-distribution of wealth.

Either way the above statement is a complete fallacy. Unless you believe, by the same logic, that all "Faith-Based" initiatives are "Front groups to promote a Theocratic agenda".
