Even as hyperbole, the PSA is over the top. The line “the stability of New York has been threatened” is particularly telling -- it depicts opponents of marriage equality as being under siege by some kind of armed, invading force of same-sex marriage supporters.
The war rhetoric doesn’t end with the PSA, either. NYFRF’s website prominently displays an image of the word “marriage” in the crosshairs, accompanied by the headline “Cuomo Launches All Out Assault”:
