New Tesla cars a disaster!

Market Watch

After eight years as a public company, Tesla still has teething problems

July 1 2018

EXCERPT:

"But Tesla’s stock rally has stalled over the past year as analysts remain divided about the company and the colorful Musk, who has taken an increasingly aggressive stance against perceived detractors in recent months.

The stock has lost 3.3% over the past 12 months, and has shed nearly 10% since the Sept. 18, 2017, record close of $385. Meanwhile, Ford shares have edged up 0.7%, GM’s stock has run up 15% and the S&P 500 has climbed 13% over the past year."

and his debt continues to grow,

"Tesla’s free cash flow ballooned to a negative $1 billion in the first quarter from a negative $277 million in the fourth quarter. Analysts were expecting negative free cash flow of $889 million. "

When are you going to read the link in post 34 ?

That was an opinion piece, one not shared by Wall Street. Why do you put such stock in it, when Wall Street doesn't?

That is, what secret knowledge do you think you possess that Wall Street has missed? Tesla is sitting on boatloads of cash, and production is ramping up. Wall Street doesn't see any problems.

If someone is absolutely certain that Tesla is headed for a collapse, the logical response is shorting the stock. But I recommend you don't, as I think it would lose you money. As I don't foresee any major movement up or down, the logical response for me is to ignore it.

That is not a straightforward opinion piece since they showed numerous examples of Musk facing LEGAL troubles some that are already filed against him, which means there is hard evidence that he is heading for trouble.

I didn't mention WS at all, this was from CNN Money who published it.

Your deflection is dishonest since this is the only mention of WS in the CNN Money article:

"The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that the SEC has subpoenaed a Tesla parts supplier in a probe into whether it misled investors last year about production of the Model 3, Tesla's least expensive electric car. "

They posted numerous evidence that things are not going well with Tesla in the article that YOU a Tesla apologist keeps overlooking.

You still haven't explained why Wall Street doesn't see a problem, and why you're not shorting Tesla stock.

Your cult has been predicting the imminent doom of Tesla nonstop for years now. It's kind of like how your cult has been predicting an imminent ice age for years now. As is always the case, your cult's predictions keep flopping miserably.

It's not wide-eyed greenies holding Tesla stock. It's cold-hearted hedge fund managers, who have done the research on Tesla and found the financials to be sound. Given your history of failure, why should we believe your alarmist proclamations of doom over their judgement?

Well.....according to Business Insider Magazine.

Some new Tesla cars are being delivered with flaws, and owners say getting them fixed is a painful process

Crappy service and quality issues with the Model 3.....waaaaay below industry standards! First pass yield at 14%. Industry average is 80%. Reports of abusive workplace environment and bogus sales figures!

According to today's New York Post that carried a full spread story, "Insiders at Tesla say it's a shit show!"

Hmmmm.....but the climate crusaders come in here and tell us all the time that things are just swell at Tesla!!!

:oops8::oops8::spinner::spinner:

Teslas are a rip off and the entire electric car industry is an environmentalist's joke. Anyone who buys a car you need to plug in and recharge every 200 miles or use (if you can find a plug), is an idiot. Between the batteries and the impact of CREATING the electricity, they are no better, maybe worse than a gas car. Just kinda cool because they are quiet and have almost instantaneous power. So quiet, they need to have "noise" added so people know you are coming.

Just the other day on the Discovery channel, I was watching World's Best, and they showed a dragster that was electric. Damn thing was the fastest thing on the track. And, while you could hear the wheels burning rubber, that was about it. None of the loud gas noises, but the damn thing was down the track like a lightning bolt (yes, pun was intended).

Yes, on a short dragstrip EV's can do very well. But lets take a look at a Formula One race vs a Formula E race. The Formula One cars race the entire distance (305 km) on a single tank of gas. This is at full race speeds. Formula E on the other hand, only races 85 km to 105 km (depending on various factors) and to go that paltry distance they have to use TWO CARS! Yup, you read that correctly, they go half the distance, then jump out of the dead car, run to the 2nd car, and then take off again. It's the most retarded thing I have ever seen.

Add to that the Formula E top speed is currently 140 mph with 240 horsepower equivalent, and the Formula One car has a top speed of 216 (as of 2018) with a horsepower rating of between 850-950 and the top teams are approaching (and at least one has surpassed) 50% thermal efficiency. That is FAR beyond what the Formula E cars are even capable of dreaming of.

So, in the real world of racing longer distances, EV's are quite simply....shit.
LOL

An EV won the Pike's Peak run, despite losing the back motors halfway up. By 2025 the EV's will dominate any racing venue that they are not outlawed in.

12.42 miles. Wowee kazowee. Seb Loeb set the record for an ICE powered vehicle back in 2013 at 8.13 seconds, so the 7.57 is a hell of a good record, but Ken Block can beat that record with this car pretty easy. He just didn't try on this run because it wasn't during the official race.

Really? But he did not. And the EV did. And the EV will be back next year. Faster than this year. LOL

No, he didn't but he could quite easily. The club that runs the track didn't allow him to try and set a record because they knew he would. Sebs record stood for 5 years, guess what, that tech has improved too. And yet again, there is no doubt that EV's have an advantage over a short course. It's when they try and do endurance racing that they utterly fail at. Like I said, they have to use TWO cars to go one third the distance of a regular F1 car. That is a fact that is going to bitch slap you for years.

LOL Again, by 2025, the EV's will be racing and dominating in every venue that they are not outlawed in. And why would the Pikes Peak organizers not let that person run? Care to post a link?

No, they won't. Battery technology could increase five fold (theoretically impossible) and they would still not be able to go full race distance in F1 at full race speeds. Le Mans would be a joke. Like I said, petrol heads love hybrid technology, but pure EV is useful for short distances only.

But how many people care? About 27?

The entire world knows EV'S have these insane levels of performance for many years now. But as usual, none of the progressives ever factor in costs to anything in life ( it's a fascinating thinking fuck-up :2up: ). Nobody wants electric vehicles because the price is astronomical AND the reliability is shit. We know that. But those factors are completely ignored by the progressive. But guess what? Those factors are everything to a huge majority.:113::cul2::cul2:. Who think EV's are ghey.

Oh and by the way.....skeptics have been hearing the gaudy aspirations of battery technology in here for 10 years. The clean k00ks get giddy every time they post up a link.....its hysterical.:spinner:. They are all excited and taking bows in between spiking the football......for 10 years now!

The batteries still blow!!:springbed::springbed::sleep:

Tesla is continuing to see demand for its first mass market car, the Model 3, with an average of 1,800 new orders a day.

But on its quarterly earnings call, CEO Elon Musk revealed about 63,000 people have cancelled their Model 3 preorders. The number of orders went from approximately 518,000 to 455,000, Musk said.

“Those cancellations occurred over the course of more than a year,” Musk said on the call. “I think [these numbers] are inconsequential. With a small amount of effort we can easily drive the Model 3 reservation number to something much higher but there’s no point. It’s like if you’re a restaurant and you’re serving hamburgers and there’s like an hour and a half wait for hamburgers, do you really want to encourage more people to order more hamburgers?”

Tesla saw about 63,000 cancellations of Model 3 preorders

What other manufacturer has a backlog of 455,000 orders, with 1800 new orders a month, in spite of the fact that there will likely be at least a year or more wait for the vehicle?

Every other manufacturer has the ability to make as many cars as they need, as quickly as they need. You are claiming an inability to build cars in a timely manner, as a strength. It's the exact opposite which if you knew anything about manufacturing, would be self evident.
