Inverted Triangle Political System: (Sorry for my English I am foreign)

Our main problem is that power lies entirely in the hands of 1% of the population, an elite who puts in command corrupt and controllable presidents with no adequate executive experience.
In order to be elected, candidates need to reach out to 300 million people and convince the majority to vote for them. This operation itself costs millions of dollars. Where will this money come from?
In our current system, in order to run for president, you either need to be very rich or very good at sucking up to billion dollar corporations and billionaires in general.
This starts a non ending and devastating corruption circle as favors need to be returned later on if you end up winning.
Democracy as I see it now is a mere show, a dictatorship ran by the richest companies and individuals. They have full power and control of how the country is ran because no one can succeed in politics without money, their money.
What are your chances of being president assuming you do not have millions of dollars and without accepting shady donations in order to finance a successful presidential campaign? It is realistically zero.
Conclusion: you either need to be rich or suck up to the rich in order to be in power.in both cases, it is a fact that power lays entirely in the hands of the very rich and so does this country's destiny.
As a result, laws are passed in their favor and against 99% of the populations's interest, and even the country's interest itself. The rich are getting richer, everyone else is getting poorer, and the economy is on the very edge of collapsing.
This has got to be stopped. A radical change needs to be made.
The Inverted Pyramid System is the solution for true democracy in such a large country = If this system is adopted, anyone from any class can be president if they have a successful executive career and prove themselves worthy to be president and run a country. How so?
Mayoral elections will be through direct democracy. On this level, corruption is insignificant, as the voters mayors are appealing to are in smaller numbers and they can communicate with them and convince them to vote for them without collecting corrupted funds.
On a state level, all the mayors of one state will get together in one room and elect one of them governor, the one that was the most successful at running his city.
on a federal level, all 50 governors would also reunite and elect president the governor that was the most successful at running his state.
It is a fact that the citizen now elected president through the inverted pyramid system ,after most successfully running a city then a state will be very well qualified to run a country and will have absolutely no favors to return to anyone and no billionaires to obey. His only main goal will be running the country with its entire populations's best interest in mind and not the interest of whoever financed his campaign.
Every city in the USA will also be more likely to prosper thanks to an established friendly competition between mayors trying to do the best job and get elected governor.
Every state in the country will be more likely to prosper thanks to an established friendly competition between governors trying to do the best job and get elected President.
The president will also have to ensure prosperity for all states in order to win a second term, not just the few states with the most voters in them.
Using this system raises a thick seperating wall between politics and business. That is the only way for this country to heal.
It also means that joe the plumber, if elected by citizens as mayor because he has great plans for the city and then if elected by his fellow mayors as governor because he very properly ran the city, can now run for president and win if the rest of his fellow governors decide that he did the best job at running a state and so is qualified to run the country. Joe the plumber, thanks to his great ideas and hard work, can now be president. That is the essence of true democracy.

Our main problem is not the 1%. It is corruption in our politics.

And, if you're foreign, why the hell is it your business? Worry about your own country.
