"Despite how desperately illegal immigrant sympathizers have tried to portray this law as somehow harmful to our state's economy, the truth is more Alabamians are working today thanks in part to our decision to crack down on illegal immigration," Alabama House Majority Leader Micky Hammon, R-Decatur, said in a statement.

Hammon pointed to Marshall County, which he called "a known hotbed for illegal immigrant labor." He said the rate there was 8.1 percent for October, down from 8.8 percent in September and 10 percent in June, when the immigration law was signed."

Sometimes facts do need to be acknowledged.

Immigration Deportations Under Obama On Pace To Far Exceed Those Under Bush Administration

Immigration Deportations Under Obama On Pace To Far Exceed Those Under Bush Administration

I realize these are only facts, but I think it's important to throw them out there anyway.

It also seems that the private prison industry is helping to write these laws and construct policy. Crime is way down nation wide and that represents a loss of revenue. So the private prison industry is trying desperately to re-purpose their facilities to become holding pens for illegal immigrants.

    Obama deportation numbers a 'trick'

"Even The Washington Post found the Obama administration used questionable methods to achieve its deportation numbers last year. Just like pulling a rabbit out of a hat, the Obama administration’s record is a trick. In reality, President Barack Obama and his administration are giving amnesty to illegal immigrants through inaction. It’s no wonder that the president recently admitted to Hispanic voters that his administration’s deportation numbers are “deceptive.”

Obama and the Democrats are bending over backwards to make life easier and normal for illegal aliens instead of enforcing our laws. They really believe that llegal aliens are unfairly targeted and inconvenienced!

I live in Alabama, Marshall county, Better known locally as "Sand Mountain", is just a short half-hour drive from here. Boaz-Albertville is chicken plant central. People may have jobs in these hellholes but they are not good jobs, pay sucks, working conditions suck, management sucks who by the way used to get advanced warning, presumably by the local cops, of immigration raids. I have heard tales of people hiding in the crawl spaces while immigration raided the place. So here we are praising the chicken plants for finally hiring Americans after they knowingly broke immigration law for decades and still are, there are still illegals working in those plants right now, management knows it and actively works to keep them. They would fire all Americans in a minute to get their no rights, no backtalk, wage slaves back.

Ijaz, the University of Alabama economist, said he believes it's a stretch to credit the immigration law for Alabama's declining unemployment figure.

yeah, the reasons are politically motivated. Bush saw cheap labor through the eyes of the business community. Obama sees Latinos, the bulk of illegals, as potential democrat voters.
The presidential admin does not deport people. ICE does that.
Predictably, the MSM is all over the deportation story as the White House has released it to the media. The White House plants stories all the time. That practice goes back several decades.
The bigger issue is how many illegals are SELF deporting. Reports state the rate of Latino self deportation is a growing concern within the farming and other labor intensive seasonal employers. Latino workers have been occupying these jobs for three decades now. Business owners got used to cheaper labor.
For example. Back in the late 70's and early 80's A friend and myself worked in the horse racing business. Back then very few if any people with Spanish surnames worked among us. Once illegal immigration began to increase, Americans were more or less forced out by the cheap labor provided by illegal immigrants. As matter of fact the only minorities working the back stretch at the two tracks I worked were black people.
Now the trainers who hire the grooms and hot walkers are complaining they can't find anyone to do the jobs. They got comfy with illegals. hf well, too bad.
