I donated on the 13th, the confirmation notice didn't arrive until today, and now the bar has moved.

Yeah I see the bar finally moved... cool. I think this board is worth a few bucks here and there to keep going. Lord knows I've had years of "free" fun here already.

you two both know that paypal holds the money to make interest on it..the bar doesnt move till they release it to the bar...

now i am assuming this is a for profit board?

so these are not charitable donationions?

approximately how much does it cost to run this board and what becomes of the money that is donated that goes beyond board costs (a problem i dont know if you will have or not)

i think that it is alright to ask questions when i am being ask for donations.

Gunny - I'd donate something because I think it's a worthwhile message board, in spite of my complaints about the tone of some posters. But how do I do that? I'm a little nervous about giving anyone running this board credit card or bank information because you're obviously not apolitical and who knows how badly I might piss off one of you?

There's nothing in the registration information or FAQ concerning donations, unless I missed it. I was going to send you a PM, but thought I'd post the question in case everyone else would like to know too.

No, it's mt an issue at all. Not with me,nor the other admins. If you have some evidence that our integrity is questionable , birng it. Otherwise, I screw everyone fairly without having to cheat.

I believe you! But you'll have to wait until the first of the month. I just put a downpayment on a new (used) car and need to spread the rest of my sheckles thinly 'till then.

I've been using PayPal for years, and never once had a problem. In fact, they got my money back from a less than honest auction on ebay for me.

This was a couple of years ago, but I guess they've fixed the problem.

Sorry, boys, but my apprehension simply came from getting burned on AOL by stupidly providing my real name once. That was before I knew that nothing is ever kept under wraps for long on the Internet.

And if the donations were not through a third party independent from the board I would agree with your suspicion. By the way, do NOT share information of a personal nature on this board either, as someone WILL find a way to use it against you. But not Gunny. trust me, you are not completely annoymous on the internet
but the only time you would need to be worried is if you are commiting a crime

i may not agree with you much on political things, but you need to know that what is said can be tracked to you if its something illegal

but the only time you would need to be worried is if you are commiting a crime
