DUMB ASS, the bail out is part of the deficit. WHO signed that?

You remember? The bail out that was so crucially needed Congress was not even allowed to read it before voting on it and then Obama waited 4 DAYS to sign it cause he was off on a Vacation. Remember that one? Now subtract the 800 billion from the 1.4 trillion and what do you have? Why you have the budget Bush signed.

Then look at next years budget that Obama wants. You people are beyond fucking STUPID. Bush doubled the deficit in 8 YEARS. Obama will double it in 4 and may triple it. 50 cents on EVERY dollar the Government spends right now is BORROWED. BOOOOOSH didn't do THAT.

Sorry, that's President Bush's budget deficit. He owns that baby.

Come back in a year and bitch all you want about President Obama's deficit. No doubt it will be as high. Perhaps higher.

WRONG again, Bush signed in just over 600 billion, Obama added over 800 billion. Try some reality you dumb cow.

George Bush is but a distant memory to the majority of voters with regard to the current state of the economy, as evidenced by the epic decline in the Obama poll #'s.

Accordingly, you're..................

Of course he did. He owns the budget up through last week.

Tax revenue fell by $420 billion, or 17 percent, to the lowest level in more than 50 years.

Individual income taxes, the biggest source of tax receipts, fell by 20 percent, the agency said. Corporate income taxes dropped by 54 percent, reflecting the slow economy.

At the same time, federal spending rose by 18 percent, the CBO said. About half of the spending increase, $245 billion, was driven by the costs of bailing out the financial industry and taking over mortgage financiers Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

The spending increases and tax cuts included in the economic stimulus package approved in February added almost $200 billion to the 2009 deficit, the CBO said.

U.S. Deficit for 2009 Totals $1.4 Trillion, Budget Office Says - Bloomberg.com

So Obama contributed $200 billion to that deficit. That still leaves President Bush holding the bag for $1.2 trillion. (the previous record, also set by Bush, was $459 billion)

Yeah, you did. Perhaps you can get one of the mods to change your thread title to one that reflects the truth: New CBO Report: Bush deficit HISTORIC!!!

Yes, the deficit is increasing.

This is to be expected give that reveues are down and we're spendig trillions trying to stabilize it.

Bush II started us dow this path, Obama is keeping us on it.

Looks rather like this is a bipartisan (dare one say an AMERICAN?) problem to me,.

Historic???

Hardly.......when you adjust for inflation the GOP God of fiscal responsibility managed to TRIPLE the existing deficit.

If you really want deficit spending......look at WWII

We managed to survive both

... and who is responsible for out of control inflation? :eusa_whistle:

Exactly! Thanks Kitty

It was Jimmy Carter who put the country into a recession

And how did Ron Reagan get us out of the recession? He SPENT his way out
Reagan TRIPLED the deficit in spending his way out of a recession

Recessions don't cause inflation, inflation causes recessions.

Bush was unquestionably a reckless cowboy the way he spent money, especially during his second term.
But anyone that can't see that snowball continuing to roll and gain momentum is simply delusional. Obama is exploding the debt at least at the levels of Bush, with no indication of getting it under control.

It's an American problem in deed, and America is in a heap of shit. We need to trade in our rubber boots for hip waders, and have a set of chest waders at the ready.:dig:

Its not so much spending money but what you spend it on

If I borrow $10,000 to replace my roof it is not the same as if my neighbor George spends $10,000 for a weekend in Vegas

We don't have "out of control" inflation.

Hell!, KK, we just experienced an enormous DEFLATION in the stock market and real estate markets, too.
